Publisher 2.2.1 keeps making a backup file
Stephen Babb replied to Stephen Babb's topic in V2 Bugs found on macOS
The files are on a separate MacOS computer on a network (wifi), and are not local to the two Macs we are running Publisher on. We haven't had this issue until updating to 2.2.1 this morning. -
Publisher 2.2.1 keeps making a backup file

It is definitely a .afpub~backup~ file. And I have not been able to pinpoint a reason, as it is random. Sometime when I minimize the file it happens, but not consistently. My wife and I are both using versions 2.2.1 on a network, working with a set of 20 publisher files (not at the same time). I can edit 4 or 5 different files, save and close, and it might make a backup file on one of them (not all). Same for her. After a couple of hours of work, we have a backup file for each of the set of 20. We are using two different paid versions of Publisher 2.2.1. -
Upgraded Publisher to 2.2.1 this morning, and since then Publisher makes a .afpub~backup~ of my files, at random. What is going on? And how do I turn this off??

Is there a quick key to minimize a text box that I am working with, instead of having to click and drag all four handles separately? Working with lots of text, in different sizes and boxes, I need to avoid the clutter of overlapping text boxes. On other programs, I had a quick key (command+m) that did this, saving lots of work for me. Thanks in advance!

I have an ICC profile that I want to use. I see where I can "import ICC profile" in Photo, but I do not see an option to use the same ICC profile as my default profile. It does not show up as an option in "Settings". Is there a way to add it in the Global Settings for photo, publisher, and designer?

OK, I see that now, but i only see the K-Only button if I drop in a .TIFF photo. It works for TIFF, and that is great. But the K-Only button does not show up if I place a .AFPHOTO file, or an EPS file. Should I always export to a TIFF? I have always used EPS files for photos (27 years of archives, yikes).

Hello, I publish a monthly 40-page newspaper, with both B&W pages and 4-color pages. I've spent the past 2 months trying to convert from Adobe products to Affinity products, but I keep having trouble with CMYK pages. When I place a black and white (grayscale) photo on a page that will output to CMYK, the black and white photo is rich black instead of 100K. This is a HUGE no-no for newspaper printing. This happens each time, whether or not the photo is a Photoshop file, or Affinity Photo file. I always have color pages that have both black and white advertising, and 4C advertising, and with photos both BW and 4C. 1. In Affinity Photo2 I have converted the photo's "Convert Format/ICC Profile" to Gray/8, Greyscale D50... 2. In Affinity Publisher2 I place the photo into my page layout which uses CMYK/8, U.S. Web Uncoated V2 3. The photo is rich black. I have had other problems with rich black showing it's ugly head from time to time, but I've been able work around most of these issues. I just can't seem to figure this one out, though. Any insight on this is appreciated! P.S.: Affinity is a GREAT suite of programs and I really want to convert.
