I figured out how to rotate the layers. I can resize the whole document. I can rotate the all of it using two fingers, but it isn’t precise as telling it to rotate clockwise 90 degrees, if this is possible. I understand navigator can rotate 90 degrees precisely, but when you export the picture it’s rotated the same way it’s imported!! There’s no way to rotate it before importing either! I can’t find any useful information on the internet because all of the information is outdated. The whole layout of Affinity Designer for iPad has changed allot that the videos to help you from third parties is outdated. I’m actually having to think about downloading a basic app that can rotate the whole vector picture 90 degrees because it seems this task is too simple for Affinity Designer to do that it doesn’t seem to be implemented to handle this basic task! The internet is full of useless information on Affinity products because the layouts have changed so much!

I want the designs to match perfectly so that if you looked at the front and then the back, the effects would be just like if you was looking at the front of a car, then the back of a car. I've found that you can flip horizontal and vertical, etc. But... it doesn't reorder the layers as if you flipped it to looking at the back. Reordering meaning the front image should become the very back image when flipped, the next front image is behind the first front image is placed to the next back position, etc, when everything is flipped. The order of layers should be changed on the flip. Any ideas how to do this in Affinity Designer, Photo, and or Publisher for iPad? (Preferably Designer).

I've been struggling to decide on a iPad version to get. I do not really want to spend a whole lot of money, but I want to buy brand new. I plan to use it along with Cartoon Animator 5 in creating scenes, props, characters for it. I don't want to sit at a desk all day, I want to lay back or on my side or sitting on a comfortable couch to do the drawing. It's for a hobby and may become something later down the line, but who knows. All my projects has always been where I sink money into it and no money is returned back. 🤣 So, no. I'm not professional. I'm a hobbyist. It's a reason I fell in love with Affinity products, due to the perpetual license and the wide range of capabilities it can do! I'm struggling cause people say you don't want to get 64gb of storage and need at least 128gb. I've found someone online that uses her iPad with a competitor product that limits her layers or something like that. I've heard that Affinity products for iPad do not limit layers. I plan to use this for drawing and maybe some "lay down time" watch movies... I found the 1st gen pen at Walmart for $79, but not sure how long that sell is for. The 2nd gen pencil sells for $79 right now for iPad 5th gen and iPad pro prices on Best Buy website as of 3/29/2024: iPad 9th gen with 64gb for $249 + (pencil at Walmart $79) = $328 iPad 10th gen with 64gb for $349 + (pencil at Walmart $79) = $428 iPad air 5th gen with 64gb with a pencil for $529 iPad pro 11" latest model 128gb with a pencil for $828 Because there's no 128gb for these, the next storage is 256gb, except for PRO. iPad 9th gen with 256gb for $399+ (pencil at Walmart $79) = $478 iPad 10th gen with 256gb for $349 + (pencil at Walmart $79) = $578 iPad air 5th gen with 256gb with a pencil for $678 iPad pro 11" latest model 128gb with a pencil for $828 The struggle is the $100 difference isn't much of a difference between the versions, except for the PRO, which is much more than the other versions. I like the 10th gen because the stereo landscape speakers for the entertainment part of it, but I've heard about nightmares with the apple pencil 1 while using the 10th gen iPad. I saw the recommendations somewhere on the Affinity website about the M1 chip, but what about using something like the iPad 9th gen? Overall, I want to get away with the least expensive iPad, as I don't wish to buy a computer replacement. If I buy anything like the iPad air 5, I feel I'm almost buying a computer replacement, and I might as well save up for a new ASUS gaming desktop instead. So, I'm hoping that if I get the iPad 9th gen with 64gb with a pencil would be just enough for creating scenes, props, and characters for use in Cartoon Animator 5 on my windows desktop machine. Thank you! I went to my account page and found the download links in there for the latest version. I just downloaded the MSIX file and then right clicked on it and then clicked install. It asked if I wanted to update. I clicked update button. I didn't have to uninstall nor deactivate it. It detected that I wanted to update it. Very nice! Hurray!

I wonder... if I uninstall... should I deactivate first.... then I could install the latest version after the uninstall?

Thanks for that information, It's the MSIX version. I've already rebooted the computer. I've tried running admin, but get a yellow screen warning me...instead of a trusted signed popup message I usually get when I install trusted applications. So, I didn't use admin privileges because who knows if any other program may have modified that or something since it seems not official. Again, Thank you for your response! Issue still exists. Any other information to help this issue, is welcome!

I searched google for answers, and can not seem to find anything that will help me. It's been a while since I have used this program. The current version I own is 2.0.4. I don't think I'm blocking any certain IP addresses since it does seem to have found an update for version 2.4.1. I press install, it highlights install button and just sits for an hour. I can't seem to find a similar question in V2 using bing.com ... But this method doesn't work for V2 and I'm having the same problem!

Publisher 2.0.3 was used to create the PSD files. <windows 10 operating system> <MSIX version> in Affinity Photo 2.0.4.... * create new document * click FILE * click PLACE... * CONTROL + CLICK 3 or more files... just do 12. * click OPEN * wait for timer to complete work... * once it's ready, start clicking on the page, it will CRASH. (You can wait in-between, it will still crash even if you "give it time") This is suppose to be a "production" software, where you can do things faster without having to worry about work arounds. Unless I am mistaken, this isn't a BETA or ALPHA version is it? Imagine, you need to get 12 of these PSD files put into a photo NOW... and it just keeps crashing... you've gotta place each one separately and that's very very very time consuming!

The PSD files are created by Affinity products 2.0.3 version. If I create a new file.... 1500px by 1500px .. .72dpi... File > Place... Select more than 1 file... both 3 and 12 files crashed Photo 2.0.4. ... start placing them, and it will crash! ---------- I've got it set to automatically send crash reports

What sucks is that you have to download the "whole" 500+ mb file to update... when you should only need to download just the update portion.

I took a chance... and instead of uninstalling... I just ran the new MSIX file and there was a button that said "UPDATE" ... I clicked update button and I didn't have to uninstall!

Wouldn't that remove settings or preferences?

I open up Publisher... I always get "Would you like to install the update from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4?" ....If I click install, it causes the whole application to hang. Okay... I wait for a few minutes watching my Speedify app to indicate there's a download happening... but nothing! How do I update Publisher ...or any of these installed MSIX applications I bought directly from Affinity Store? Solution: Download MSIX file.. open it.. there should be a UPDATE button... click that.

I've got MSIX installed... in publisher, I click Install and it just hangs forever. If I download the complete MSIX package, will it update itself with that ??

I'm trying to update the software, but every time I click on the install button for the update it just hangs... forever.

The solution currently is that you'll need to change the extension to have .msix then you'll be able to install. It downloads without an extension.

Is there currently a quicker way? I'm looking to export 1 page per pdf, but all the pages in publisher exported at the same time instead of having to go thru each page to export.

that don't make no sense... duplicate ...duplicates the whole image... if I flip it.. it goes to the far left side of the picture. It's flipping the whole image and not the selection. Which Persona is Patch tool in?

If multiple people go to your room and leave items in it all over your room, later you come back to your room and you see tons of items all over the place. How fast will you be able to find any one item? If instead everyone put their items into categories, and organized where they put their items. Wouldn't it be much faster to find those items? Yes, bug fixing will be much faster because the information would be organized and you wouldn't have to spend a great majority of your time sorting and looking for relative bugs. Good bug tracking tools will show you other bugs that are similar to the bug you are reporting so that you can also join in the discussion instead of creating a "new" bug. I've heard Bugzilla is open source, free, and easy to use, although I've not tried that one. If you spend the majority of your time "looking" for relative bugs in a forums, you spend less time doing the bug fixing. You also will probably not find bugs that really matter, but instead find whatever is on top of your forums. The real bugs may get buried in a mess of other newer posts. I ran a War3Source TF2 server for several years. I had a forums page. I created one for gamers to put in what kind of races they would like me to create and I also had a bugs forum like Serif has going. There has been many times that other newer posts would take priority over older posts, then I'll have users complain in the gaming servers about why I ignored their race or bug. I eventually put up MantisBT and was able to get them to use it. Then, my issues with the gamers went away because they could also see what I was currently working on and they could add new bugs and ideas to the list. The list wouldn't get ignored anymore as all the unanswered posts would stay to the top of the list. Overall, the less time spending looking for bugs is more time fixing bugs. They might not "code" any faster, but they will have more time to do it.

So... I'll have to export publisher pages and do this in photo ? I was actually trying to re-arrange the pages themselves.... but I am guessing that isn't possible as there is only 2 settings... either front facing pages or single... nothing else.
