AI Files in Designer

in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

I just have a question. I am opening certain AI files that I have in Designer and when I do, I have noticed that all my layer groupings are gone and all I see is about 1000 layers of minutia. Is there a way to see my old groupings or is this a limitation of this software?

Thanks for any direction or help.
