Okay, so it turns out that they were not deleted. It's just that the stroke was a hairline, which is invisible in this program unless you look at a wireframe view. Thanks.

Thanks. I'm using Affinity Designer 2.03 and Windows 10. I'm referring to the "duplicate selection" under the edit tab, which is keyboard shortcut ctrl J.
I can't get a screen capture because the function requires that I keep the ctrl button depressed to make the duplicates, so I can't release it to capture the screen.

I am unable to get the duplicate feature to work correctly. After it duplicates 5 images it starts deleting from the first one, so that I can only end up with 6 images. What am I doing wrong?

No I didn't, because this was designed by the customer as a laser cut file which requires a hairline stroke (at least on an Epilog laser)
