  1. I have been using Capture One Pro professionally for 20+ years. Once their moneymen got their hands on it and changed it to a silly price subscription I stopped updating it at v22. There probably will be no way to continue to use v22 once Windows 12 comes out. I stopped Adobe Photoshop after CS6 because of subscription, and moved to Affinity Photo for any work that Capture One could not do such as complex batch processing, adding borders, and at that time healing and cloning tools. I also moved from Dreamweaver to Squarespace though that was for different reasons as Squarespace has quite pricey annual fees. This announcement is worrisome. Seems that subscription only will be taking over the World in all software. what happens if you no longer want to subscribe but you do want to re-edit old files - you are caught just like with Adobe in which you have to restart and then stop again. Canva looks horrible to me. My main interest would be in video editing but Davinci Studio works great and is a one off cost of just $300; I moved from Vegas a couple of years ago as their update costs got silly.
  2. Hi,. I am running Photo 2.0.3 I was pleased to find that it imported my personal Photo 1.10.6 macros to the Library - great, I was expecting to have to re-write those as V2 "under the hood" is apparently radically different to V1. I think there was an option to import available when first installing V2. V2 did not import my personal workspace changes but no big deal. I regularly back up preferences workspaces macros etc in my most used software e.g. capture One Pro, Vegas Pro, in case of catastrophic failure or to copy to a 2nd PC. Usually I can find the relevant data for copying in the Windows 11 AppData folder but at present I am only finding this for V1 not for V2: C:\Users\MYNAME\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Photo\1.0 Where would I find this for Photo V2? Thanks.
  3. Thanks Jhunt68. I had tried that method previously as it was described in a previous thread but it did not work because for some reason I cannot recall it could not be accessed. However I tried it again just now and that worked fine. Maybe the update to V2 (2.0.3) which was released a few days ago sorted it out.
  4. Ah, just found this link from moderator Patrick Connor, thanks. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/171826-why-are-we-using-msix-for-windows-installers/ I unzipped the aflaunch zip and put it in the same folder as that where I store all my various downloadable apps including a folder for Affinity Photo. I associated this with Adobe Bridge 2023 plus 2022 and now it works fine :- ) Tried with Xnview as well for good measure and that works fine with both Open With: Launcher and Open With: Associated Program
  5. Thanks Walt and Francois. I will wait for the installer update as suggested. I had only reported the one method but had already tried others having gone through many other posts / threads on the subject. I've had Affinity Photo for 6 years having dumped CS6 when that went rentable. I was worried about V2 because I have numerous Actions I have saved in the Library and use in Batch Jobs sometimes running hundreds of files. Glad to find that V2 did find all these :- ) I had to rewrite some Studio Presets and Preferences but that was no big deal. I use Capture One V22 for most of my editing, especially now that it does healing and cloning on layers etc but may well use Affinity much more if the Capture One new terms turn out as silly as they appear to be.
  6. Hi, I have tried to use AffinityPhoto2.exe as described above but with both Adobe Bridge 2023 and Xnview 1.3.1 I get a popup saying "The file cannot be accessed by the system" Any ideas? Thanks.
