  1. Many thanks for your help. (Yes, I had run Disk First Aid – and it verified all my discs are OK!). I have installed Ventura and everything is running smoothly. I can now edit and save with no issues. I still have no idea what had happened, and since I now have the delights of a new OS to explore, I have little incentive to investigate further. I have design work to get on with. Best wishes.
  2. Thankyou so much. On that basis, it must be something to do with the OS. 2 days ago I ran the Monterey (and Safari) updates. The computer froze and I had to go through a Recovery re-start. I thought it still didn't quite feel right, but [almost, it turns out] everything seemed to be running OK. However, late yesterday I also noticed that GarageBand was unable to copy-and-paste an instrument track, which shouldn't have been an issue. Copy-and-paste is an OS function, not an application function. I think I need to do a full restore, and even upgrade to Ventura! If the OS is corrupted, then upgrading to a new OS should solve that. I'll let you know! 😄
  3. I am having problems saving a document in Designer 2. I partially created a document (A4 poster), and saved it with no problem. I then carried on working on it, and the program now refuses to save it. I had to Force-Quit in order to do anything. I reloaded the same document from the previous save, carried out the same work, and again the program hung when I tried to save. Again, I had to Force Quit to get out of the program. I then tried a new document with some random shapes. It saved. I added some text, and it saved. I returned to the original document, carried out a tiny edit (moved a graphic item), and the program hung on save. Screen-shot attached. Annoyingly, I need the document, so I may have to recreate it now in a different program (probably two programs!).
