I ended up contacting Microsoft and discovered what I term a dictionary is a 'lexicon' in their jargon, and it is more or less a 'live learning' document. There is no way to read through the words individually, or download it per sé. I have now purchased Affinity V2 as I did not have Designer prior to this. I await new challenges to try to learn this stuff. It might be time for a few Irishmen to throw their heads together and produce a Hunspell English (Ireland) dictionary, lexicon, or whatever your havin' yourself sir!

I am seeking the reverse of the original poster. Can I get a dictionary for English (Ireland) in Affinity Publisher? This is available in MS Word. This is the specific version of English as spoken in Ireland. Unfornuately even the Microsoft version is still learing and can not fully grasp how we Irish utilise the lingo. Unknown (en-IE) comes up as a 'transport error.' I have been using this software for a year and as I am a slow learner I find it very hard to master. Incidentally most of the English spoken in Ireland is influnced by the Irish language, Gaeilge. I often catch my 17 year old daughter using the phrase 'I do be', as in 'I do be doing stuff to keep the craic going.' Although regarded as an Irish word 'craic', meaning 'fun', is actually from a Dutch source!
