  1. This doesn't work for me, I don't get a “Place panel”, I just get a the first page of the PDF placed on the page. EDIT: Don't have the picture box selected when you choose place and the place panel will appear. However for pdfs with many pages (300 in my case), the whole thing slows down and crashes and renders the file unusable. Indesign doesn't have the same issue, I don't know if Publisher is importing them at too high a resolution, but I can't seem to see an option to change it.
  2. Now you point it out, I can see it! I guess they've overlooked it because everyone seems to use dark themes these days.
  3. It's worth pointing out that (on the current latest mac version 2.5.7 at least) there is no padlock to indicate the aspect ratio is locked. This caused me quite a lot of confusion until I clicked on the empty space between the width and the height boxes became the traditional unlinked chain symbol.
  4. Ah, well this explains a lot. Another +1 for the feature please. It's rather irritating and seems an odd feature to be omitted. On posting, it seems there was a page 2 to this thread and it has already been implemented. Can't delete post, so here we are.
  5. This was the answer in the end, took me a long time to notice it, not sure how I didn't register this reply.
  6. I'm having the same issue as I want to create a preview of a pdf for a download link. The workaround I am using is to place on a publisher page and export as jpg/png.
  7. I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but I had to scan and trace an old logo the other day and I would have appreciated a bitmap mode, I had to switch on an old computer and use an old version of Photoshop to do it.
  8. I had two versions of Open Sans Regular activated, one from Ascender Corporation and one from Monotype. I have deactivated the Ascender font, but it hasn't changed anything. I will see if a restart helps.
  9. I noticed earlier that I have two different font files for Open Sans that appear to be from different foundries, one variable and one not, so perhaps something is getting confused somewhere. I'll investigate in my Typeface app.
  10. Thanks, yes, checked them both and they are 100% horizontal and vertical.
  11. I have a text box with the text set to 10pt and another with the text set to 12pt. The 10pt text looks more like 14pt text and the 12pt text looks much more like 8pt. I'm trying to find out if the boxes have a zoom applied to them, but I can't really work out what's going on. The font is Open Sans, wondering if it's a variable font issue?
  12. Thank you so much! “Revert Defaults” was the only thing that would get rid of it!
  13. I have just typed some text and for some reason there's a background colour in the text box. I can't find anywhere to turn this off. I have spent around half an hour searching for something and read these forums where any solutions mentioned don't seem to work for me. Appreciate any help, this was supposed to be a five minute job and I've spent nearly an hour on it. Edit: I think I have found a bug as I've found the option, but the background is set to none anyway. Changing it to another colour works, but when I change I to none, it comes up in red. I will put on the bug forum.
