  1. Amazing. As an ex Quark and Indesign user also, I'm thanking you for this, spent ages trying to work this out.
  2. Thanks, before I read your replies, I tried the "group" option which did the trick in the end. Although annoyingly the text box in the group didn't resize the text, so I had to do that manually!
  3. I'm a long-time artworker, starting with Pagemaker, then QuarkXpress, transitioning to InDesign, then forced by Creative Cloud to Affinity. I love this software and am grateful for its existence and price, however, there are some ways it works slightly differently from what I've got used to over the last 30 years. I seem to have got the hang of resizing the picture frames and images independently, but now, I'm just trying to resize the frame and the box in proportion to scale the whole thing up. However, I can't seem to get them to work together. I have the scale set to none because I don't want to fill the frame, I want to keep the current crop. I want to keep exactly what I have and enlarge it. In other software, I would grab the corner, hold down shift and drag, but that doesn't work here. I don't have lock children selected.
  4. I've just upgraded one of my Macs to Monterey and it now works fine, so it's a Catalina/Big Sur issue by the looks of it.
  5. I have just figured it out, it wasn't a picture frame apparently. I right-clicked and chose "Convert to picture frame" and can now change it.
  6. I am trying to resize a frame rather than the enclosed picture, but I don't have the 'Properties' button. How do I get it?
  7. I am trying to distribute objects by a certain distance (4.5mm apart), but I cannot find an option anywhere. I have managed to space them by using the option in the layer menu under alignment, but it won't let me enter a distance. I have found these instructions, but I don't have those icons on my toolbar, I only have the alignment icons: https://affinity.help/publisher/en-US.lproj/index.html?page=pages/ObjectControl/distribute.html?title=Distributing/spacing objects
  8. I've just noticed that the artboard was set to passthrough. Changed it to normal and it's fixed it. Not sure how it came to be set to passthrough.
  9. I have created a logo in Designer with a 30% tint (not opacity) of a swatch. When I import it into Publisher onto a background of 100% the same colour, it doesn't show. However, if I change the background colour to black, it does show. What's going on? Is there an overprint/knockout setting I'm missing?
  10. I can't find anything on this other than a feature request in V1. I'm assuming the “Balance ragged lines” feature hasn't been implemented? If it has, where can I find it?
  11. Not that I'm aware of. It doesn't have this issue with any other application. It seems as if Affinity creates the lock file, then sees there's a lock file and refuses to open it. I'm guessing it thinks that it's a different user's lock file.
  12. Yeah, but the file isn't locked, that's the issue. I'm the only user. There isn't any lock file either. Edit: Actually, just checked and there is a lock file created when it's opened and it's not deleted when it closes. It suggests that Affinity is misidentifying the user…
  13. I'm sure this issue has been mentioned before, but I haven't seen any updates to it. I am unable to open files from my TrueNAS fileserver. I get a message saying that the file is locked. Affinity apps are the only ones I have found with this issue. macOS Big Sur 11.7.10 TrueNAS-13.0-U5.3
