And you created them directly on the Master Page?
Correct.

The design is possibly an imported IDML template created for InDesign so the objects involved are not "native" in that sense and their attributes are somehow confused.
I made the lines with the pen tool and in the Designer persona applied the "Dashes 1 - Anti-stretch" brush from the Fineliner brush pack out of the Affinity store.

Did you copy those dotted lines from another document?
No, and if I copy them into another document the lock is released to function normally.
QuoteIf not, can you recreate this situation in a new document by repeating what you did in this one?
No.
Long story short, I got around it by copying and pasting the lines into the same document and deleting the locked ones. No problems after that. I just wish I knew what happened so I don't accidentally do the same thing again. Maybe it was a fluke.

Publisher 2.0.4 on Mac.
In the master page I cannot unlock two dotted lines. I've tried clicking the lock on the layer and at the top of the layer as well as clicking unlock with right click on the layer and from the menu. Nothing. History says it's unlocking but it's not releasing it. My other locked layers will unlock and relock.
They are grouped so I ungrouped them. Nothing. I closed and reopened the file. Nothing. I closed and restarted the program and reopened the file. Still locked.
Help?

Bummer. I hope they'll pay attention to it soon. Most annoying is my randomly missing horizontal scroll on a zoomed WIP.
Thanks for the info.

Oh my gosh. Simple fix. I'd done that before but didn't realize the line weight was zero, which is why I saw nothing. Thank you!

In Publisher 2 on Mac desktop, when I added a table and tried to use the setting in the studio sidebar (pinned in the studio), it showed the scrollbar but would not scroll with my mouse wheel. I had to drag the scroll down to see the rest of the menu.
At first I thought the other menu scrollbars work fine, but I was incorrect. I can scroll with the wheel on Layers, Text Styles, Quick FX, Pages, and Assets, but not in Paragraph, Text Frame, Character, Pinning, or Table.
Also, sometimes my horizontal scroll does not appear on the bottom when my image is zoomed in.
Ideas what's going on?

I'm creating a document in Affinity Publisher 2 on a Mac desktop. For the first time ever, when I used the text frame tool to work with fonts, typing standard text, the program applied the last brush I selected in the Designer persona that I had applied to a pen tool line. Now, I cannot get the program to stop using the brush on my fonts, so I can't make a single normal letter.
I'm completely beside myself. Until now, I've only ever seen this tool restrict text to fonts and disallow brushes on them. If I wanted to apply a brush, I used artistic text.I don't know how to fix this. It doesn't matter if I delete the element and create a new one or restart the program. All I can do is try to revert in history, but then I lose my brush application on my line. If this is normal function, there is no easy way to stop the brush from being used. Not that I can find. If I disable the brush style, it types blank letters.
How do I go back to typing normal text?

Dotted line layers won't unlock on Publisher 2

I didn't have problems locking and unlocking when making new lines with the same brush, or even copying and pasting these. It's just these particular layers. I'm going to chalk it up to a fluke isolated to these layers and hope it doesn't happen again.
Thanks for all the troubleshooting help.
