  1. Hello, I hope my reply can help you, although I haven't yet tried the solution that was offered to me on this forum. Apparently, there are 2 methods of installation available for Affinity 2. There is a '.msix' installation file, which I used myself, and a '.exe' installation file. It was suggested that using the standard '.exe' file installer would cure this problem. If you installed using the '.exe' file then this reply will probably be of no use to you. I managed to find this '.exe' file on the Affinity website and downloaded it for any future reinstall I might do, but was not bothered enough to spend time reinstalling all the assets etc. as well, especially since there are better views on Pixabay and Pexels websites and I don't spend that much time on them anyway. Affinity seem to recommend the '.msix' over the '.exe' method, which you might like to read. Why there should be any difference in the installation I can't say. Hope this helps. Mick
  2. Hello Walt & HentSteph, Thanks for your info on this problem. I have downloaded the .exe version of the installer but I have decided not to go through all the hassle of uninstall/reinstall of all my settings/assets etc. until I come to reset my PC in the future. I can live without the Stock Studio panel for the time being. Although it involves a bit more work, the larger views of images on Pixabay and Pexels actually suit me better, not to mention other image websites. Mick
  3. Thanks for that info Walt. Guess I would have been very disappointed had I saved the wrong version as a back up! Mick
  4. I was looking at James Ritson's tutorial on How to Back Up Assets, Shortcuts etc and eventually came to the part about backing up the entire user information stored in the Affinity "appdata" files. On the video, James' described how to actually get to the "appdata" files. His PC showed 2 folders under the "Photo" folder, namely "1.0" and "1.0 beta" (this is a pre Version 2 video). I use a Windows 11 PC. When I came to view my "Photo" folder, the contents showed "1.0". James stated in the video about this referring to the current versions installed. Now, I previously used Version 1 but have updated to Version 2. I would have expected to see the folder "2.0" instead of "1.0". I would like to know if this is this right, or has there been some sort of mix up in the installation. I ask because I have previously posted on here about the fact that, on V2, I cannot get the Stock panel to access either Pixabay or Pexels directly by entering terms in the Search, whereas they both (+ Unsplash) worked in my V1. The "I Understand" checkboxes for both are ticked and I can access both websites by clicking the "Pixabay" and "Pexels" text within the Stock panel. I think I'm probably clutching at straws to solve this problem and wondered if it is anything to do with the anomaly in "appdata" described above. Mick Stevens
  5. Hi Bruce, Thanks for your post. Well, who'd of thought that would be necessary or available? I can indeed see the whole panel now. Unfortunately, although I have now been able to check the box agreeing to their terms, the search terms I enter still respond as before, a short 'busy' circle appears but STILL no access to any images. I also tried closing Affinity and restarting, to no avail. Thought we were on to something there but ,alas, no.
  6. Hi Ron, On both Pixabay and Pexels both just send me straight to their respective websites. I don't have, and never did have, the view of the Stock Studio as shown in your comment. On both I get a truncated view that only contains down to where it says 'pixabay' or the 'P' logo of Pexels. I don't get shown the checkbox part which I means I can't agree to their T&Cs. It all worked perfectly in version 1. In fact, I'm wondering if the problem might lay in the PC registry, where data may have been left from where I installed V1 and wasn't cleared when V2 was installed. Probably clutching at straws with that one but I can remember having a problem once when trying to install Freemake File Converter and had to do a manual data delete with Freemake's help.
  7. I have recently upgraded to Affinity Photo v2. I, too, have the problem of searches in Stock from both Pexels & Pixabay (what happened to Unsplash from v1?) appearing to search but returning nothing and offering no explanation. I'm using Windows 11 and searching in Stock in v1 worked perfectly. I didn't even get the "I understand" dialog check box to confirm(?) in v2 that has appeared in some comments here. I have read through some of the comments and problems regarding this and it appears opinions are somewhat random as to whether it works or not and no definitive answers seem to be forthcoming, so is not really of any help. I feel we can only hope that the appropriate staff at Affinity are monitoring these comments and will come up with an answer. Guess I'll just have to go to the relevant sites to download the media.
