In my case, since after updating to macOS Big Sur (the last system for my MBP late 2013, with Nvidia gpu), all the Affinity apps (version 1.10.5) had very slow startups. In High Sierra was always very fast. But there's a solution, i think the videocard is the culprit: Go to Affinity Designer Menu >> Preferences >> Performance >> Choose "Display: Open GL" and check "use only integrated GPU (requires restart)". Restart Now. Affinity opens very fast again. Do the same for Photo and Publisher.
