  1. +1 for multiple export resolutions. Pretty much the same use case as Tazintosh--exporting logos and images at multiple resolutions.
  2. I think Zapfino's not built correctly--maybe it's not even opentype. I guess I'll have to wait patiently for you guys to implement a glyphs panel, and copy and paste from Font Book in the meantime. Since starting to work with Affinity Designer, I have removed Illustrator from my system :) .
  3. Thanks for the video! Helpful to at least know what I was expecting. I was using Zapfino, because I know it has a load of alternates, but obviously it's not set up properly, because none of the opentype features show. Switched to Bickham Pro, and can see how many of the opentype features work for that, ( and very nicely, too). Still can't access some of the variations for that font though. I guess in the end a glyphs panel would be pretty helpful... Thanks for the help!
  4. Hmm, I have the typography panel in the latest beta. It doesn't seem to show anything called swashes. I particularly need to access alternate characters, even if it means copying and pasting them for now. I assume that the plan is to have some way to access them in AD in the fullness of time. I just wondered if there was a way to do it now.
  5. How do I access the extended character set in some of the newer Opentype fonts that have alternate swash caps, etc.? Illustrator has a glyphs panel, which I don't think AD has yet, but is there another way to do this, eg. keyboard shortcut or another utility? Thanks.
  6. No, wait, something weird is going on in 8 as well. Something about tif vs tiff and the Affinity insisting on flattening the file.
  7. C1 8 roundtrips the files just fine, except that if you need to reopen the tiff file ("edit with"), Affinity flattens it on import.
  8. Whoo Hooo, text on a path! Happy, happy, joy, joy! And it's so much better to use than AI or PS. Fantastic, update everyone! Corner tool rocks it, too. I like "baked" btw, but "set" works for me too.
  9. Thank you so much! Just installed these in Photo Beta, and they're great.
  10. Thank you! Great Resource
  11. I've been having this same issue. It seems pretty random as to when it kicks in, but then it's the same as what you describe: the first nudge goes an unpredictable distance and direction, the it's fine. I'll continue to try and pin down what the trigger is, but so far I can't find it.
  12. Thank you! That works perfectly, and exactly as I would expect it to work. I didn't really get that there was a difference between clipping and masking. The more time I spend using AD, the more impressed I am. Keep up the great work!
  13. I have jpeg masked by a vector circle. I want to adjust the position and scaling of the jpeg. I seem to be able to adjust the mask by selecting just the masked object, but I can't select just the jpeg, maybe because the mask is a child of the jpeg. Is there some way to adjust a placed image without moving it in and out of it's clipping mask?
  14. Hey, thanks for getting back to this thread, Tony. It would be great if there was a way to toggle on and off, not just the handles, but any text highlighting--it can be distracting when you're trying to adjust size, spacing, kerning, etc. cheers, jt
  15. Thank You! That's half the battle. It would be great to have something that worked for the text tool, as well, as letter-spacing etc. is one of the things I prefer to judge without highlighting showing,
  16. I'm wondering if there's something that's the equivalent of the "h" key in illustrator, so that you can see what you're working on without seeing the selection indicators, but without deselecting.
  17. Thanks for the answers. A lockable guide layer or layers would be cool. But mostly, the ability to make them stay put. I keep dragging them accidentally, and it's kind of annoying.
