I'm having this same issue. Very odd. Neither option or command +drag creates a duplicate. It seems to be specific to one file. Other files, it works just fine. Okay, it seems that I had somehow selected "All", but the marching ants weren't showing at the zoom I was at. A quick deselect and everything is back to working as expected.

I want to export a bunch of InDesign files to PDF format so I can port them into Publisher. In Indesign, in addition to a bunch of image quality settings, like highest quality, etc. I have the choice of PDF/X-1a, PDF/X-3, PDF/X-4, which seem to be standards. Is there a preset or standard in InDesign that will give the best import into Publisher?

I kind of agree with all the points in this thread. To be useful, the modifier keys need to be persistent on the screen, and on either the left or right edge, depending on your handedness.

I have some brushes that I mostly use as stamps for grime, noise etc. They are set to have a random rotation, so that each time you click the brush, it rotates the brush shape. There seem to be two brush previews--an outline one that shows the basic brush, with no rotation, and one that is a preview of how the brush will look that is full colour, and shows the re-rotation of the brush each time it is stamped. Is there any way to disable the outline preview, or have it also rotate?

Is there any way to scale a selection around the middle? On the desktop you would hold down a modifier key....

The iPad version does memorize the settings if you do it through the studio, rather than the panel at the bottom. But I agree that being able to duplicate within the iPad app is pretty important.

+1 for linking files. I frequently place an image in multiple files, and the files are all large because they each embed the image. Also, if the image changes, it has to be manually replaced in each file that contains it--quite a bit of work, and more potential error.

I really, really +1 the need to be able to toggle the bounding box visibility on and off without holding down a key. when you're making minute adjustments to position or type it's a huge pain to have to keep clicking away from objects or using space bar on, space bar off, not being able to see your object in between changes. Command H in Illustrator

Reinstalled 10.10.2, and that seems to have taken care of it--not for exiting files, but for new saves. Thanks so much for the help. Actually, still no previews in list view--looks like you don't either(?), but at least they're there in income view, and in the preview in the right column.

Well, that's interesting! I will investigate. I have no problem with any other image files, but I am on 10.10.2 as well. I don't relish the thought of reinstalling, but maybe that will be necessary. thanks for letting me know.

It would be extremely helpful if the file icons for the affinity format showed a thumbnail of the file in the finder like most other image formats, rather than a blank icon. I'm starting to acquire a fair number of Affinity files, and it's a pain to not be able to tell them apart visually... Thanks!

+1 for multiple export resolutions. Pretty much the same use case as Tazintosh--exporting logos and images at multiple resolutions.

I think Zapfino's not built correctly--maybe it's not even opentype. I guess I'll have to wait patiently for you guys to implement a glyphs panel, and copy and paste from Font Book in the meantime. Since starting to work with Affinity Designer, I have removed Illustrator from my system :) .

Thanks for the video! Helpful to at least know what I was expecting. I was using Zapfino, because I know it has a load of alternates, but obviously it's not set up properly, because none of the opentype features show. Switched to Bickham Pro, and can see how many of the opentype features work for that, ( and very nicely, too). Still can't access some of the variations for that font though. I guess in the end a glyphs panel would be pretty helpful... Thanks for the help!

Hmm, I have the typography panel in the latest beta. It doesn't seem to show anything called swashes. I particularly need to access alternate characters, even if it means copying and pasting them for now. I assume that the plan is to have some way to access them in AD in the fullness of time. I just wondered if there was a way to do it now.

How do I access the extended character set in some of the newer Opentype fonts that have alternate swash caps, etc.? Illustrator has a glyphs panel, which I don't think AD has yet, but is there another way to do this, eg. keyboard shortcut or another utility? Thanks.
