Exactly the same happens on Photo. When using the installed presets ( PNG and PNG-8 ) everything works well, but if I adjust any setting like Pixel Format, Resample or ICC Profile, transparency is lost. And yes, it is solved using the workaround Lee D described.

I just received some HEIC files from a client, so I can be sure that all the images were taken with the same device. Some of the files could not be opened with Affinity Photo V2.0.0 ( "The file type is not supported" ) but I was able to open all of them with Affinity Photo V1.10.5.1342 I'm sending you one of the problematic files. 4DCC8C2C-1CD7-4203-BEB7-A2ABE266CA5F_1_201_a.heic
