  1. Thanks for the information! One more question: So if I have the "Force Pixel Alignment" and the "Move by whole Pixel" on all the time, the problem of blurry merges should never happen? I wonder where those errors (probably user errors as I hear from your first comment) normally occur. From a UX perspective this sucks a lot, cause I would like "hard enforce" that everything is aligned to the pixel grid which is what those buttons do I would assume. Where do they fail to enforce it? While using the move tool or creating a vector shape and then rasterising? Moving between apps? Kinda hard to understand and not intuitive at all. I think a closer look how PS does it would help, as I have used PS for 10 years and not once did I have this problem...
  2. Hey hey, I just ran into the problem as well. This is a big thing in my opinion in illstration work and as pointed out, anyone coming from PS will be hit hard, like @JulianB ... Sorry Bro! I love Affinity and the Integration within the three apps is sooooooo fckn nice, thats why I stick to Affnity. But I cannot recommend Affinity for Illustration work because of this weird behavior (and some other problems). Please integrate this function as suggested The workaround is just too tedious... I opened it as a new topic in the V2 Forum just so it doesnt go under the radar!
  3. This is basically a repost to carry it over to the Affinity V2 Forum Section: As discussed in several Post is the "Merging Down" function causing Anti-Aliasing in many cases. For Illustration this is an undesirable result, as it blurs your edges. Especially in Brush and Line Work this is making the "Merge Down" (and "Merge Selected") function virtually unsuable. I am not sure of all the things that cause layers to merge blurred but it is anyways too big a risk for an intuitive illstration workflow to use the "merge down" function with a hotkey (which is a often used and important function). For now the work around is: 1. Select the layer below the layer you want to merge down. 2. "Rasterise & Trim" it. 3. Select the layer you want to merge down and select "merge down" function. As I understand this is not a bug but a intended behaviour. For Photo Editing this is understandable. But Illustartion work suffers, because we need this pixel precision to keep the sharp look of the image. Especially on lower resolution images. Here are the mentioned Threads: Shout out to @NotMyFault He illustrates the problem quite extensively and easy to understand! Some Screenshots to show the problem:
  4. Hey Bruce, Thanks for pointing it out. I was already aware of this function, which is really great, but cmd + C and then cmd + V really is more intuitive and I would argue way faster. So I think it still would be a great functionality to add Cheers
  5. As mentioned in several Forum Posts already, Copy and Pasting Parts of Curve Nodes (selections of a single or several nodes of a larger curve) is not possible. This would make many workflows more intuitve and faster in my opinon. Here are some post discussing the issue:
  6. When I acivate the Levels Layer it just turns the whole layer flat white. Shouldnt it just adjust the pixel values of the Mask with the circle? Here is a better showcase:
  7. When on MacOS and I want to pick a Color on the Canvas and I have the "Brush Preview" on, it picks the Color of the Preview Brush Stroke. Which is a bit pointless Maybe this can be fixed, because I love the feature but I turned it off for now.
  8. Ahhh, haha sorry, didnt get that. Is this a workaround suggestion or just a remark how to implement the rotate tool?
  9. +1 This is desperatly needed for illustration work, which always uses a tablet which cannot use a scroll wheel. Maybe someone knows a workaround to emulate a scroll wheel with a tablet? Was already requested here. Or at least let us set
  10. You are right! Sorry for the confusion. But it would be a nice feature anyway...
  11. Hello Everyone! New from the Adobe Suite. Much to like in the Affinity Suite, also still a bit unstable, but it is 2.0.0 after all. I am currently validating if it is worth it for me to switch over from Adobe to affinity for my design needs. Looks not all too bad. I will update my post here with things i want/need to see to make the complete switch: Designer: Stroke Alignment for Open Curves as discussed here. I get that it is more complicated than assumed, but Illustrator can handle it so it is possible... Link: Stroek Alignment Open Curves Photo: More intuitive Free Transform Tool. We need the "Distort"-Function as in Photoshop without applying a Perspective Filter. For Concept Art it is an often used tool and should be more accessible. In Photoshop it is as easy as holding down "Command" and dragging on the Points of the Bounding Box.
  12. same bug on my system: OS: 10.15.6 (19G73) Device: MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
