  1. Tried out these modalities. Still doesnt work. Moving Pixels of multiple layers in pixel selection at once V3.mp4
  2. Tried that in the second video. No change. Seems to be a bug. I will file a bug report.
  3. Just saw that I had a option selected. But tried it again in the second video with this option disabled. Still makes no change. It is an option that lets you transform the selected objects seperatly in their own bounding boxes. As to the term "multiple" I would say it is quite synonymous with several. In this case it is an adjectiv so "several layers" and not an adverb as "multiple times selected" Here an article which I see my assumption supported https://www.wordhippo.com/what-is/the-adverb-for/multiple.html
  4. I think I did, but anyways here is another video where I do it again and try out some more modalities and none work... Moving Pixels of multiple layers in pixel selection at once V2.mp4
  5. So I downloaded an older V1.10 Version and there it works flawlessly... I tried to find a way to revert back to affinity photo V2.0 but didnt find a solution in the forums. So as it stands now I would consider this a bug. Or maybe it is intentional and a design decision... I will try to find out and keep this thread posted.
  6. Just tried that. Doesnt work for me. See attachted video. I am using windows 10, Affinity Photo Version 2.1.1. Also tried it in Publisher with the Photo Persona, same result. It only moves the whole layer not just the selection as intended. Maybe a bug in a newer version, as I am pretty sure I had it working before. 7. Thanks! That is a good pointer. I will try to change the topics title so that it is clearer!
  8. Thanks for the quick reply and your effort! But I think you misunderstood me, as i only wanted to move a selection of pixels and nit the whole layer. Thomaso already showed me that its possible, so I have to find the error on my end Thanks anyways!
  9. Hmmm damn, that seems as easy as I assumed it to be! I have to try it again as soon as I am back at my PC. I must be missing a detail or a setting in my affinity file... Thanks for your effort. Onxe more the affinity forums dont dissapoint! 🙏
  10. Hey thanks for the fast responses. @v_kyr I phrased it a bit weird. What I meant: I tried and couldn't figure out how it works. @thomaso I meant the selected pixels within the selection. So i want to move just the pixels within the pixel selection of 4 different layers at once. So as if I would do the exact same transform of the pixel selection for all 4 layers in a row (which works for sure but it is rather tedious..) Hope thats more clear. Best
  11. Is it possible to move a pixel selection of multiple pixel layers at once? I didnt figure it out with the help of the forums or trying it out myself. Any help is apprecited! Moving Pixels of multiple layers in pixel selection at once.mp4
  12. Hey hey, I think I found the solution. You have to "Duplicate Linked" the layers you want to use for clipping. Then you create a group with those linked layers. then you drag the group in into the mask channel of the layer you want to clip. Important: Transforms have to be manually linked in the layers panel for some reason. Like this, when you change the layer underneath (like painting in it) the linked layer will also change. Here a Screencapture
  13. I have to agree with Red Sands here, that from a UX Experience the solution in Affinity Photo seems to be quite bad for most users, as it is not explained at all in the program why this bevaiour is happening. there isnt even a warning when merging down. In photoshop you get a warning when merging down "smart objects".... As stated multiple times: include the feature requested by @NotMyFault
  14. Hey Dan, thx for the reply. As mentioned in other threads, it is not a bug but it is counter to many users intuition (I would argue most users even). So if you could file a ne feature which rasterises and trims and then merges down, that would be awesome. As the @NotMyFault thread also suggests. Here the thread once more: Thanks!
  15. Hey Callum, Now I am on Windows 10 with Affinity Photo 2.0.4 Here is the File and the screenshots. Maybe its just not a feature or user error on my side. Let me know Adjustments_on_CompoundLayers_possibleornot.afphoto
  16. Hi Callum, Unfortunately I just switched Devices two weeks ago and now I dont have access to a MacOS device anymore. Maybe someone else can verify if it works now. On windows 10 it works correctly and picks the color of the canvas and not the prushpreview.
  17. @Red Sands Hey man I get your frustration, and for me as an illustrator (mainly) it is also frustrating. But stick wth PS if you cant handle it... I think your statement that it's "madness" has some truth to it. I wouldnt express it this way but I agree, that probably a lot of new users will be put off by this behavior of affinity. And I would strongly suggest the dev team to take the suggestions made by @NotMyFault into account. I get that the "illustration" user base probably is quite small but none the less affinity photo is marketed as an illustration app... So hopefully they will implement it sonner than later
  18. Different DPI for sure makes it so that there is no choice. But resizing is normally not a problem as people are less suprised to have blurry quality when reszing images and merging down, as it seems more intuitive that there will be blurring. But on a different but somehow related note : In my creative process I sometimes have to move around images to try different design ideas/patterns/etc.. In PS you could convert those images to a "smart object". This would to a certain degree prevent many resolution Loss and Blurring problems, when performing many transforms in a row. I am not aware of quick way to do that in Affinity Photo. The only way is to safe it out as a file and then place it in the document as an embedded layer or linked file. Or is there a more convenient way to have embedded layer or linked files?
