Would be nice if I could activate or deactivate layers based on a boolean field. But I think that more complex formulas are better to work on the spreadsheet software. I use formulas to add the file extensions, activate or deactivate some image fields and convert values into multiple image fields (for example: on my card I have a field to define the card level and two fields that use that value to define if a circle image is placed on the bottom left of the card)

I found I workaround for color, I save some images with the color that I want and use them with a blend mode on the layer to tint the frame of my cards and use a mask to only tint the card frame For boolean I was trying with a mask image for true or false, But Affinity does not work with Picture Frame as mask, it's very buggy 😥

I want a boolean filter with the Datamerge to hide elements of my design. On this case I was planing to use a mask to hide or show a special border on my design, that border has a meaning on my card game. The workaround now for me is to export the border and add a field on my spreadsheet to it Here is a before and after activate the object on the layers panel. Hi @Dan C, Thank you! I upload the files. You can see that after the datamerge Affinity creates a new image instead of apply it to the mask. If I edit the original file with the preview activated It creates a image object when I double click to set the field to the mask picture frame on this Forum post I give some suggestions for the datamerge feature

I do not know if we are talk about the same panel This images are from Publisher. But I'm sure that I could edit the pinning in Designer V1 to adjust the size of the inline images. The workaround now is to edit on Publisher and continue on Designer after

On Version 1 was possible to edit the pinning of imagens on the text. On version 3 the panel does not exist on the window menu and does not show when click on the little pinning icon on the layers panel

Because Datamerge does not support Boolean fields to enable or disable objects I had the idea to use a mask to how or hide objects. But use a Picture Frame as a Mask with Datamerge create some unexpected behaviors as: the mask becomes empty and create other image objects on the hierarchy (before and after generate) ??? is the object created. And the mask that is a white image is empty

When you insert an object inside a layout it organize the object size and position based on the layout. it could be implemented as an layer or a additional component (effect) of any object Examples of Use: Grid of Elements Organize the Art Boards in line (Would be nice to sort the Art boards inside a layout by name) Repeat an object in a grid and apply a transformation based on the position on the grid Randomize the order of the elements or what elements are active or inactive (To create a Card Deck and test Board Game designs inside Affinity) Randomize the position of elements on a Layout (Define a Bag of Objects and set the number of objects)

Colors could be assigned to a fill, stroke or effects, values could be used for transformations, and effects values, and booleans to activate and deactivate layers To implement it will be necessary a implementation for reference fields, it can be useful not only for the datamerge, but to define variables that can be used on the document. For example I define my color pallet and size of shadows as variables and when I change the variable it will change for all the document. Find and Replace: In my workflow I need to replace text with icons and character styles. I use the # to define an image substitution and text between [ ] to be bold, as I show on 18:30 of this video. It works using a regular expression. But would be nice to configure a document with rules on how to replace text, and a way to find and replace text with inline image. Today I do it manually, and have the problem that when I paste an image on the text it ignores the document preference and paste embed (not linked) Repetition: Would be nice to use a column on the spreadsheet to define the number of similar objects (in my case cards). Hello, I recorded this tutorial about my Card Game Workflow. For some reason I could not post it on the tutorial forum It's not ideal because it's not possible to replace text with image for all the key words in the same time. And when I paste an image inline it is embed and not linked. And would be nice to define colors and values on the spreadsheets and use they for fill or effects parameters.
