  1. Hi Paul, this is an interesting (and unpleasant) point. I will have a closer look at the PS fonts and how old they are. I guess there's no other way than buying newer versions or did you find other ways to update them? Ingo
  2. Hi Dave, and thanks for your reply. You probably talk about font substitution, am I right? That's not the problem. Indeed all fonts I tried - see the attachment - support the central european characters. It's just that they are not displaying/displaying right in AD. No other programs I use do have this issue. Update: Other CE fonts work fine, so I compared them to those not working. It seems that OTF and TTF display all CE characters, just PS fonts (in combination with their AFM file) cause this problem. Is there a way to make them work? Ingo
  3. Hi pauls, copying the text to a new document within AD delivers the same result. When copying it to another program (i.e. Text Edit), the text displays fine. I also tried different CE fonts, some do not display the CE characters at all (DIN Regular CE), others do but with bad spacing (please see the attachments).
  4. Hi there, searched the forum for a similar issue, nothing found. I opened an AI file in AD and the Czech CE character (š, ě, ť, č, ř and so on) do not display - the see attached screen shot. In any other program running on my Mac never had and have any problems like that. To be sure, I tried to type these characters in a completely new document - with the same result. I appreciate any ideas, how to solve this or identify its cause.
