I'm using a Windows VM for Affinity. A native Linux version would be a dream. I hope the dream comes true soon.

i've gotten all three affinity software working on linux, they aren't perfect and every tool isn't 100% stable but as Grunt said, it's sufficient and really useful to at least be able to open and do minor modification in affinity files (you can usually do more, i've managed to do a lot with photo, designer and publisher on linux)

Maybe here is some hint:
Does any App splash screen appear when trying to start or don't you see anything at all.
Can you try to open the windows event log and check if any errors or warnings are loged in one of the lists after you tried to start one of the apps:
And: what is your Windows version and hardware configuration?

Figured out, that Kaspersky Internet Security is blocking the communication.
When I turn it off, Affinity is able to connect to the Affinity-Servers.
-> A message that says "Affinity Publisher/Photo/Designer cannot communicate to the Affinity-Servers." might be helpful. 😀
