I successfully installed Photo V2 with this 3rd party installer: https://www.advancedinstaller.com/msix-troubleshooter.html It also noticed that one of my previous attempts to install Designer V2 worked even though it ended with an error message.

I am running Windows 11 22H2 and got the "The app didn't start" message. I got the Application Installer (.msix handler) from the Microsoft Store and discovered that I couldn't verify it was installed in any substantial way. But I tried it and got the same error message. Then I tried installing Affinity Designer v2 with the Powershell method which paused for a bit but then just returned me to the Powershell prompt without any message. I still got "The app didn't start." It's pretty safe to say that it simply won't install on my Windows 11 22H2 installation. (Probably Microsoft's fault, like so many things, but we have to find workarounds.)
