  1. This thread is fascinating. If there was any "trick" perpetrated by Serif, it was forcing people to purchase Version 2.0.0 in order to get the $99 price point. I am way too savvy a computer user to EVER immediately buy and install any version X.0.0 software, and yet here I am. I feel like a complete dope. I don't trust Apple's iOS X.0.0 releases. Why on earth did I trust Serif? Initially, I thought I was doing it to support Serif's continued efforts. But them I went and installed and actually used the software, like a chump. Oh well. Beta testing software after its public release is fun. But, note to the OP: there's a reason companies aren't early adopters of new Windows OS releases. (I'll bet some free production work that your company is not running Windows 11.) Same principle applies to all software. Your IT person should have Automatic Updates disabled on all pc's, and they should be pushing them once their stability has been verified. IT-101.
  2. I have to say, my anxiety spikes every time I look at this forum, and I've been here a lot since V2 launched. Between the lack of an upgrade discount (which I do not care about but others clearly do) to the buggy "features" (which everyone cares about), I hope the devs are of stronger minds/constitution than me. I am here to basically second this thread, and to add to it. Hopefully this is the right place to do this. With the cohesive integration of the three apps as well as the iPad and desktop versions, we need much better default file locations options. I am now saving my project files to iCloud so I can access them on both iPad and pc. Since I have hundreds of projects saved, I am exporting final images to a separate folder, just for basic organization. At a minimum, I kind of expect default options for saving/opening project files and a default folder for exporting images. For reference, below (or attached) is the "Preferences: Directories" page from Audacity, a free program. Again, though, let me emphasize that Affinity has a great suite of programs that almost single-handedly keeps me from giving my hard-earned money to those f**kers at Adobe. Sincerely: Thank you all for your ongoing and continued efforts.
  3. I am not sure why saving history with the document is a decision that needs to be remembered by me every single time I save my projects. I always save my history, because I’ll inevitably go back and make some changes later. I like to see what edits I’ve already done, and sometimes I just need to redo things. Regardless of the why, it would be very helpful if, in the General Preferences, you could add a permanent option to save history with documents. Three options—Always, Never, Prompt/Ask When Saving—would suffice. It is always deflating when I open an afphoto file that I’ve worked on but forgotten to Save History with document. Please and thank you.
  4. While I agree that a loyalty discount would be fair, I think that Affinity has more than proven their commitment to us through V1’s (1) price point, (2) performance, (3) tutorial videos, (4) feature updates, and (5) provision of a permanent license without subscription. Affinity and DaVinci (along with a recent find for photo management, Excire) are my team of Adobe killers. $99 dollars is an unimaginably low price to pay for this suite of tools. Our continued support of their efforts makes that possible. Paying $100 every 5 or so years seems the least we could do for products that Adobe would charge *checks notes…$54x60mos…* $3240. Plus, the Affinity’s Universal License works across Windows, Apple, and iOS. (I’m still skeptical that I read that correctly. I’m pretty sure I paid separately for iOS last time.) V1 owners are the primary audience for V2, since Adobe’s marketing budget makes them the Starbucks of design software. New customers will continue to discover the benefits of Affinity, but until then, the 40% discount is pretty much for us. So that’s my two cents, as a grateful and satisfied customer (who admittedly sounds like a shill).
