  1. I did get both an announcement in APhoto start window and an email about v2 being out even though I'm not on the marketing list. So at least for some of us those things did happen. Wonder why you didn't get notified.
  2. Any chance for an opt-out for automatic updates? I for one, and I can't be the only one, don't like to update working production software until I've seen that the new version didn't break anything.
  3. Well now, it looks like I will be buying the v2 suite then. Don't let it be said that I don't appreciate it when a company is willing to listen and let the customer choose what they would like to use, instead of choosing for the customer. Going the options route from the start would've saved both sides some headache here to be sure, but at least we were heard and will get an option.
  4. This is what it boils down to me. I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that they went app or nothing. If they'd offer both app and a normal installer I would've already bought the bundle for V2. Now I'm sticking with V1 Photo and Designer and looking for a publishing program.
  5. That would probably work to help with the workflow problems. But it wouldn't solve the big issue I, and apparently others, have with the software going where IT wants to go on the PC instead of going where I want it to go. That is simply unacceptable for me and going by the forums I'm not the only one.
  6. Well, I'm glad and sad that I saw this before buying. Glad because it saved me from the hassle of refunding. Sad because I've had serious respect towards Serif so far. I was planning on buying the full bundle since I'm in a need of a layout software and Publisher would've filled that need. I've also been using Photo and Designer for a good long while and wouldn't have minded getting an upgrade for both. But, this whole apps instead of proper exe software is an absolute deal breaker. If I can't decide where software goes on my PC and what it does and when it does it, it doesn't go on my PC. With the exception of Windows because I use way too much software that is not natively supported on Linux. So yea, unless Serif come to their senses and offer me a way to properly control the software I buy from them, I am not buying from them. And will not be recommending their software to anyone in the future, as I've thus far done to several organisations and individuals. And I need to keep on looking for a layout and publishing software.
