  1. sorry, I got your problem confused with the quote you used. You bought through Design 2 Mac , so that is where you have to do the activation. You have to have the Affinity account to use the Universal licence - even when it is bought from elsewhere. from Licence Activation and Registration Explained at affinity.serif.com 'If you in-app purchase an Affinity V2 Universal License through either the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store you will also need to register that Affinity V2 Universal License in your Affinity Store account, or else you can’t receive any of the multi-app cross-platform benefits. After purchasing a license, you will be prompted to register your license. Registration can be skipped but will be available again in the Account panel in the application. Learn how to create an Affinity ID in the last section of this guide. When you next start a different Affinity Version 2 application, you can immediately sign-in to your Affinity ID to activate your license, or you can start a trial and sign-in later. Activating a license will then change the trial into a retail version. That is true no matter which store you downloaded the Affinity software from (the Affinity Store/Mac App Store/Microsoft Store/iPad App Store). If you don’t sign-in to your account, you will be prompted to purchase again, even though you have technically bought a license. This is due to limitations with the Mac App Store/Microsoft Store that are beyond our control. However, by registering your Affinity V2 Universal License in your Affinity account it will then allow you to use your license on any Affinity V2 application on any operating system, including iPadOS.' Now you have that Affinity account (not the same as this forum account) and the Universal Licence has to be recognised by it (then you can also see it in your Affinity account). The question is, how to do that. You can send your problem to affinityorders@serif.com , they are really busy and it might take a while for an answer (they got back to me after 9 days and I'm sure they would have helped, but I had already found help here in the forum). There are other suggestions in other threads here, such as Affinity Suite Purchase problem on Mac App store and Activation Fails for V2. The last suggestions here are interesting (from querty 1000 Wednesday) Here is a link, what you see isn't the comment I was referring to. At the moment the relevant comment is the last in the thread. You have a trail version running? Is it Design 2 Mac through which you bought the Universal Licence? Maybe you can sign in through 'my account' (toolbar) in the app, (see Dan C's answer from Nov.12 here, page 3), perhaps also the deactivation and restart trick would work.
  2. If I understand correctly, you have not gotten Photo 2 to open. Why don't you try 'Activate' instead of 'restore'? It signs in. Not just for apps bought from the Affinity store. You don't mention if you have an Affinity account, if you don't, you have to make one. (Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but most people mention things like 'I went to my Affinity account and it was / wasn't there.) You bought the Universal Licence through Photo 2, it is unclear, do you have a trial version of Photo 2 running? If so, have you used the 'my account' button - all the way to the right on the toolbar? What does it show? There are also other threads about these problems, sorry I don't have their headers anymore. Other tips are there, that might help.
  3. @ggeoffreYou purchased the Universal Licence throughAffinity Photo 2, did you actually activate the Universal Licence through Photo 2? I don't think that it is true that the 'Already purchased?' field is only for if one purchased from the Affinity store, it activates through the Affinity ID which you have to have for V2 Universal licence to be used on all apps covered. The forum page labeled 'How do I Licence and Register Affinity V2 Apps? could help, press the 1 reply for important information.
  4. @vinnie-bobJust got some help from a moderator at another thread. It worked for me. In 'my account's use 'deactivate this device'. Then re-start the app. What happened for me was: after re-starting it looked like it did after originally downloading the app (those three fields). The sign in panel didn't work, showed 'activation unsuccessful'. The 'restore purchases' (at the bottom and not all that noticable) did open up a panel by which one can sign in. Activation successful! tested activating another app, also activated. Maybe that helps.
  5. Thank you! It worked. For anyone who wants to know the steps (at least how they were for me) Use 'deactivate this device' First the original panels showed. By which I mean those which show up when originally downloading the app. The sign in app did not function, said 'activation unsuccessful'. Tried the restore purchases field, that opened a sign in panel. Then that worked. Tested activating Photo 2, also happy.
  6. Thank you, it was the V1 apps I was worried about. On to testing the solution!
  7. A question, if I 'deactivate this device' does it have any effect on the other Affinity apps that I have?
  8. @Dan C You asked 'What application was the Universal License purchased through please?' Sorry, thought that was clear, Design 2 Mac.
  9. Similar/same? to others' problems. Bought at apple store, Universal licence, Designer 2(Mac) runs and it is registered to me, no synchronization for other apps, my account in Affinity says that I have no Universal licence. What to do?: go to 'my account' on the toolbar - shows no registration possibility as it shows that Designer 2 is registered to me with a universal licence, evidenced by the export purchase receipt (accessed through 'hamburger' to the right of 'this application is registered to'). Also have all the billing from apple. The classics 'signing out and in' or 'uninstall reinstall' didn't help. Haven't changed my Affinity password, nor does it contain extraordinarily unusual symbols. How can I register the app to Affinity when it is appears to be already registered in the app but isn't recognized as such in my Affinity account.
  10. @querty1000 Just curious, did you try the 'my Account' tab on the tool bar all the way to the right (wee head, green when signed in), or the grayed out one on the menubar top left (which is also grayed out for me). Or are both grayed out/non functional for you? Not that it helped me, but the tool bar 'my account' button opens up a new box with various functions, among which are one which shows who the account is registered to (if registered), and signing in and out. Mine shows that it is registered to me and the previously mentioned 'purchase receipt'. I would like to know if other people are registered and not registered at the same time. I was already signed in to my Affinity account according to this function. Tried signing out and back in which accomplished nothing, but maybe someone else has better luck. Below is something Affinity Help says about the toolbar: but that isn't what is happening. Registered but not synchronized, no new registration window, which I guess is a bit logical as I am registered according to 'my account', but not according to Affinity. My Account—registers your app, accesses your Affinity account and synchronizes with purchased content. The icon will show green when signed into your account. The registration window is presented the first time your Affinity app is opened. If you deferred registration at that time, select My Account on the Toolbar to reopen the window.
  11. @vinnie-bobThat's it exactly. Menubar menu 'my account' doesn't work. Toolbar 'my account' does (aren't they the same?). Toolbar 'my account' shows it is registered to me, can see it is the Universal licence if 'export purchase licence' is pressed. Nothing else can be activated. Have tried signing in and out through the toolbar 'my account', nothing changes. And the same as you with the links. Purchased is confirmed through Apple and having been paid. Affinity account says no licence. I am especially riled that they say one can register through through the account tab, but then it doesn't work, or rather the menubar tab is nonfunctional.
  12. I have apparently the same or similar problem. Designer 2 works, but no further activations. The same deal, when trying to activate another app it says 'no universal licence'. I get sent to 'my account' at Affinity which maintains that I have not purchased it. The 'my account' tab top left in Designer seems disabled and is grayed out. The 'my account' button on the tool bar all the way to right (green person head) does work for me. When the account field opens it shows that the app is registered to me with a universal licence. So, no possibility to do what the Help Page suggests, as it is already registered (I assume the top left account tab does the same as the tool bar account button on the right.) The question: is that the same for you? Registered but not registered at the same time? The question is also for the first poster if Photo similarly has two possibilities of accessing 'my account'.
  13. I purchased the Universal Licence through Design 2 (Mac apple store). It is running, when I go to the 'My Account' section I do not see an option to 'register' the purchase to an Affinity ID as it shows that it is already registered to me. There is a tab for 'purchase receipt' export. Using this shows that I have purchased the Universal licence. This has been paid for (apple email), and confirmed by the apple store. Despite this, I cannot activate any other apps. The attempt log in with the Affinity account shows activation unsuccessful and I am directed to go to my account at the Affinity website which declares that I have no Universal licence.
  14. The app (Design2 Mac) through which I purchased the Universal licence is working, but not any further activation. How is it possible to attempt to purchase again? The only thing I can do is open it. Did anyone try this when attempting to activate a different app (for instance Publisher or Photo or an iPad version?
  15. Having read some of the above, so, the programs are automatically activated, except when they are not automatically activated. And one is sent to the affinity account (here) through the attempted activation, but the fact of having bought it would not be shown, except maybe it is shown. Yes, have read the 'How to register guide' before coming here. The app (Design 2) tells me that the app is registered to me and that the Universal licence has been paid for, but no other apps can be activated. And I am sent here to see my account.
