  1. Yes,, really what we need is for the full capabilities of the desktop user interface on iPad Pro, then let us tailor it down to our specific use-case, save that as a new persona and be able to share those with each other. Trying to pretend like the small team of ux people at serif are going to be able to accommodate everyone, or that they should be responsible for the sole stewardship of the layout of their tools seems like a very early-aughts manner of design thinking.
  2. Sometimes, often, when moving through my document quickly; rotating and panning, the pencil is in hover state over the canvas. I’m seeing drips and drops of paint scattered throughout that I did not place. This can be reproduced on larger pieces, rapidly panning and then painting, or rotating and then hovering the pencil back and forth for a few seconds.
  3. It's a little bonkers that not every tool panel in these apps is editable. A floating toolbar would be a great compromise.
  4. Often when drawing the tablet is rotated. The tool controls become truncated and difficult to use. Screenshot attached. The same thing happens to the top toolbar when in portrait mode
  5. I'm not sure what the above steps are intended to do. This is the first time I've installed anything from serif, but disabling open cl seems to have resolved my problem for the time being. Thanks
  6. Here is a video. Having to move the color from the sampler into the current color selection wasn’t obvious either. IMG_0039.MOV
  7. This issue is not about how weird it is that you have to hold and drag to get the sampler to come up. (But that is really weird.) While painting; using the eye dropper is as commonplace as painting itself. Often times trying to get the sampler to pop requires three or four separate touches. This is because the duration of the touch prior to the drag required for invoking the eye dropper isn’t signified by any change in the UI. I have no idea when to start dragging; so I miss-fire the process several times and then either: * It mysteriously works * I say screw it and switch tools It appears that the meta-key-dingus also requires a drag to bring up the eye dropper; and while that doesn’t suffer from the same problem as the tap-hold-drag “Process”; it does have its own issues. I’d much rather just tap and hold for 0.3 seconds, get the sampler, have it select the color under my finger, and move on with my life. It is very rare that I have to dial in a color by moving the loupe. The way it works now; I always have to re-find the color I want after the loupe “appears” - I guess this issue is about how weird it is, after all.
  8. I have now come back to the desktop and I am finding that I cannot create any documents at all. Bummer.
  9. Are you using the latest release version? Yes Can you reproduce it? 100% reproducible Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem? This is not a document specific problem. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following: What is your operating system and version (Windows 11, OSX Ventura, iOS 16 etc)? iPadOS 16.1 Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? (and have you tried the other setting?) this is an iPad What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) When adding a new swatch to a palette things go haywire and the palette viewer switches to some random display of swatches that seems like its added every color in the document. The palette I have selected should be updated to include just the one color I’m adding. Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). Create a new palette, add current background color; bug exhibits. Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware) This is a brand new version of the app afaik. Additionally, swatches are really only useful if the following things are also possible: 1. Being able to anchor the palette to the viewport so it’s always available for changing colors. 2. I need to be able to reorder the swatches in an existing palette; this is either not working or is not possible and it stinks.
  10. I’m probably more surprised by the lack of a dedicated workspace for painting than I am from the lack of any significant UI customizability. I’m loving all of the quality of life improvements you’ve made but there’s a big question mark over having more purpose-built perspectives than just photo ops. Editorials aside, it would be great to have you partner with a few professional illustrators/fine artists to come up with a sandbox for digital painting. Perhaps splitting the mixer from the regular brush as distinct tools; and enhancing the brush metadata to make it clearer which brushes work best with which of the two primary tools. I’d also love to have a mixing palette or color picker that I can move around for inline sampling and comparisons. There’s a lot of room for innovation in the perspective space on this pipeline.
  11. Created a new preset for this size to match the v1 preset. Hit "Create" and the app dissapears. Crash reports submitted through restarts.
