  1. This EPS opeing bug/issue keeps coming up time and time again for graphic artists like myself. I finally made a video on Youtube today to help others around this problem. THE PROBELM IS: Opening EPS files either produces a white screen or a split artboard left in fragments that cannot be reassembled.

I guess my second question is why do I have to open EPS in another program and save as PDF only to open the PDF in Affinity products for it to work? I love your products Affinity but EPS files have been around since I was a teenager! This is just bass ackwards!

  2. Problem: EPS files opened from my Google drive in Affinity Photo or Designer sometimes produce blank docs.
Solution: Move the file to a local drive and it should work most of the time.

Other Solutons: Some EPS files may still get sideways. If so, you can try opeing in another app or web conversion lools such as Photopea or Pixler and exporting them as PDF file. THEN try opeing in Affinity.

Personally, I haven't saved an EPS format since the late 1990's but theres a lot of them out there. I'm mostly using SVG format now. :)

  3. Hope this is helpfu for anyone looking for options. I use both Mac OS (when I'm tied to my desk) and Linux / Ubuntu 22.04 (when I'm laptopin it, coverted an old 2015 Macbook Air). I just quit Adobe after more than 20 years. (Started with Photoshop 2.5). Anyhow, I have been very happy with Affinity products.

Since Affinity doesn't offer a Linux product, I use these web based products when I am away from my iMac and love them when I'm working from Ubuntu Linux.

    • Pixlr: https://pixlr.com/ (very good web app, got me by when I was out of the county for a month)
    • Photopea: https://www.photopea.com/ (My new fav! NOTE Affinity users, this one even has a trace for creating vecrors from bitmap!!)

    Hope that helps someone.
