  1. @Dan C Yes, this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. Is there an automatic setting that converts Groups to 'Passthrough'? I ask because I never set them like that, I assumed they would stay as 'Normal' unless I manually changed them myself.
  2. I've come across this issue multiple times now where I export a file for print to PDF, and a component of the Affinity document has a gaussian blur effect. When I export the file into PDF it changes the look of other layers set behind the blur effect. Maybe there is a setting I need to adjust when exporting the file to PDF or is this a problem with the export feature? Even the SVG file has the same issue when I export it. I've attached 4 files, the image file shows in the yellow box that noticeable line and change of color displays in the exported files. As a side note, a work around is to rasterize everything together in the background, but this feels like an unnecessary step. 3. Thank you, yes I did try that first before posting my question. Unfortunately it wasn't quite achieving the effect I wanted.
  4. Thanks, I did watch a little training video on how to use symbols after reading your suggestion, it worked great. Appreciate your insight!
  5. I was wondering if it's possible to mirror 2 text fields in Affinity Publisher. Essentially when I type in one text field, it automatically copies it in another text field. I would like to use this feature if it's possible so I can create a glow effect behind title texts for a catalog. The Glow Effect in the FX panel isn't achieving what I'd like it to, so I want a mirrored text field directly behind it with a Gaussian Blur applied to it.
  6. Yeah I'm having the same issue. I've tried joining these two letters (first converted to curves) with Shape Builder. It always removes the white space, whether it's shape builder or a Boolean command. I've even made a rectangle shape to fit in there perfectly and it refuses to added it in. Super annoying when you're trying to finish a job for a client and the program doesn't work correctly.
  7. @VectorVonDoom Looks fantastic. You build on PC, Mac or iPad?
  8. Glad I found this thread. I love this font but it was driving me nuts! Hahaha, appreciate the help guys! The github font worked perfectly.
  9. Hahaha, I’m a bad person for using the wrong word. Take a chill pill
  10. For what these apps can accomplish, I think they found a sweet spot in pricing out the new versions of their software. Over the past few years of covid, Serif put their software on sale numerous times to attract new customers and as a gesture of goodwill to some hard financial times we've faced around the world. Did other companies in this creative space offer this? Not to my knowledge. Anyway, this is when I bought Affinity software and fell in love with it. When they make expressions that they care about providing their customers with high quality creative apps so they can realize their own creations, I detect their genuine care for people, for customers. This is a rare quality in businesses today for a company to strike that balance (and we do need to keep in mind that Serif is a business too, they need money to keep growing). I'm sure Serif could have sold out their business years ago to Adobe, and there would be no Version 2 to even consider buying. But they've remained loyal to their customers, kept providing updates and now a new Version 2 with an exciting future ahead. So coming to my point, I feel the release price is a fair cost to existing customers, while also being a drawing point for new customers. Not that we could ever know this, but I'd expect that +90% of purchases for V2 will be existing customers, so I kind of feel like the price is actually geared more towards existing customers rather than new customers. I've only owned Affinity software for less than 2 years, but I'm quite content to pay the price for Version 2, and to keep receiving yearly annual updates until Version 3 comes out. And I'm happy that new customers will have the opportunity to join in the fun of using Affinity software for their first time, just as I did a couple years ago!
  11. When you compare Serif to other software companies, most release new versions on a yearly basis with a few tweaked upgrades to try and bait customers to pay an upgrade price. I see this with Corel for example, every year they do this, with all their software. Whereas Serif has given free upgrades for 8 years, and now, with some significant upgrades they've not only offered a 40% discount to everyone, but they offer the Suite of 3 apps at even lower price than if you bought each one individually. On top of that, you can use each of the 3 apps on 3 different devices for one bulk price. Personally I see Serif as company worthy of paying the price, I want them to keep feeding the art community tools to work at a reasonable price. On top of that, they've shown themselves to be very generous over the past few years selling their software at 50% price points during covid - which is what got me hooked on their software. I'd be considered a newer customer, I think I've only used it for a year and a half and I don't mind paying the price for the latest version of Affinity. Keep in mind too, there aren't just key new features that have been added, they made some vast improvements to current features, such as fantastic upgrades to the layers panel. I'm sure there's much more to explore!
  12. I would love to see a way to create your own font folders, one folder for favorites just isn't enough.
