  1. Got it.  I think I also found a work-around in case anybody else had this issue.  Once I create the composition in my design software (Silhouette Studio), I save as a PNG.  I then create an outline and save as a PFD and import to Affinity.  Because of the PNG being created of the entire composition, I am able to just outline the outer edge instead of every element of the composition.

Thanks, again, for your assistance.  This is one of the best forums I've ever found for any of the software that I've used and had questions about!

  2. I'm sorry, but a lot of that thread was waaaaaaaay over my head.  Thomaso - not sure about the steps you showed above.  I understand the copy part, but not sure about how to get to the >Geometry "add">no fill but stroke part.  I am very confused at this point.  I'm pretty computer savvy but, for some reason, this is proving to be quite trying for me.  I did translate the included thread, but really got lost there.

I apologize for my ignorance as I learn by doing and right now I'm not doing so well.

Thanks again for all the the assistance.  You guys are amazingly knowledgeable about all of this stuff.

  3. How do I get a composition that I've created from several PNGs in my design software to just apply the stroke to the outer edge of the entire composition rather than around each separate element of the composition?  Will include screenshots of each step I'm doing.  Design software is Silhouette Studio.

    Steps I took:

Created composition and grouped, traced around the outer edge of the compositions, made the line .75 weight and transparent then grouped with composition.

    Saved as a PDF.

Opened in Affinity and selected the entire composition.

Applied the magenta stroke to the composition.

Close-up shows that each item in the composition will cut instead of just the outer edge.

I do many of these and would like to know if there is a way to apply the stroke from the PDF to just the outer edge of the composition.

  4. I am using AD to create cut lines for my Roland BN-20A.  I am creating my PDFs in Silhouette Studio and then opening in my browser to check that they are in color.  They are.  After that, I am opening the PDF in AD and it is coming in in greyscale.  I am a new user and not sure if I clicked on something I shouldn't have or that maybe I'm missing a step.  Using a Windows laptop running Windows 11.  Attaching screenshots of PDF in browser and once imported to AD.  Because of this, I'm unable to create a Global Color for my Roland to recognize.  Any and all assistance would be fantastic!
