Reproduction:
Using Affinity Publisher 1.10.4, open any file that contains TOC/Indices and was originally created with versions 1.10.2 and earlier
Refresh indices and TOC using the preflight menu will cause a crash
I've tried the following things:
I've saved the file using 1.10.4, which was a mistake because now refreshing TOC/Indices is still crashing after reverting to 1.10.3.
I've tried turning off hardware acceleration. This did not change the described behavior
I've tried giving the TOC/Indices enough pages to extent to on refresh (to prevent overflow and potential errors happening). This did not change the described behavior
Removing TOC/Indices completely suddenly made the whole program more stable (it's not crashing within less than 5 minutes now). Then, re-adding the TOC using 1.10.4 and refreshing it still causes a crash (this is weird because shouldn't it already be up-to-date when I add a new TOC???)
I've also encountered non-reproducible crashes when adding new text or saving the same file using version 1.10.4. I do not know yet whether this behavior can be reproduced with new documents. I had no issues with preflight or indices/TOCs at all prior upgrading to 1.10.4, the version I've used before was either 1.10.2 or 1.10.3 (I'd have to pull out windows logs to confirm which). The affected document contains no external images or resources and consists only of text (Edit: it is rather large, 130 pages. I had no issues with newer AP documents that do not have a TOC or Index so far). I'm not going to share this document because its a book I'm writing but I will try to come up with a document that simulates the behavior if I got the time.
OS: Windows 10.0.19044 Build 19044
If this version breaks older AP documents why is it NOT a major version then? 1.10.4 is utterly broken. The fact it's been out so long without a fix yet is beyond me
