carl123 got a reaction from Old Bruce in Text in Shape - Autosize shape & corner radius cannot be changed?
Use a Rounded Rectangle and Layer > Convert to text Frame
With the object selected AND the Rounded Rectangle Tool selected you can change the corner radius
Not sure why you converted it to a curve
With the Shape Text layer selected, double clicking the bottom-middle node will resize the shape to fit the text

Sounds like two thirds of you could be out of a job next year or replaced by far less skilled/costly AI grunts
Be careful what you wish(ed) for

Create one line and power duplicate it
or
Use the new "Move / Duplicate" option

carl123 got a reaction from PaulEC in PERMANENTLY Reset bounding box
And for those of us not experiencing any major bugs or UI issues, we still need those new features that we are waiting for and that will increase our creativity/productivity when using the apps.
So, my vote is for new features and bug fixes in 2.3 (as in previous releases)
and yes, I know, I don't actually get a vote in the real world, but if I did....

carl123 got a reaction from walt.farrell in Photo 2 Creates "~lock~" file of project then crashes
"Killing" a running application (i.e. one that has NOT crashed) via Task Manager is probably more akin to closing the application. Hence in that scenario I would expect the ~lock~ file to be successfully deleted, as if the app was closed normally.
Ergo, I don't think Task Manager can be reliably used to simulate a crash situation compared to an app that has actually crashed.

carl123 got a reaction from EEN in Photo 2 Creates "~lock~" file of project then crashes
If it has not been tried before, go into...
Edit > Settings > Performance
and switch off Hardware acceleration (if enabled)
Restart the app and try again

carl123 reacted to Patrick Connor in Information about the Legacy Plus Range
Legacy Range Universal Registration Key
Serif legacy customers no longer need to register their legacy software by phone or online. Any legacy software (PagePlus, WebPlus, DrawPlus, PhotoPlus etc) that requests a registration key can use this Universal Registration Key
881887
..that's it, just type that and the registration dialog will go away.

carl123 got a reaction from CCS in Sensor dust
I think I documented something similar to your problem previously, but I can't find it now
If I recall it went a bit like this....
1. Start Macro Recording
2. Use Marquee tool (set to add) to select all sensor dust spots
3. Edit > Inpaint
4. Close and save macro to Library
Batch process all your images using that macro (i.e. File > New Batch job)
If you can figure it out then uploading 3-4 images should allow us to see what you are working with and how to assist further
-
carl123 got a reaction from CCS in Sensor dust
That's nothing like I described, what to try.
You should just have a series of "Set current raster selection" commands and one "Inpainting" command at the end of the macro
Like so.... (where I made 4 marquee selections of different parts of the image, and then Edit > Inpainted them all at once)

carl123 got a reaction from Bryan Rieger in Help restoring corrupted Designer files
Your file opens fine for me in V1 (and in V2), so all is not lost
I have resaved and uploaded the file you attached (in V1)
See if that opens for you

@BlackSkin Messiah hopefully @Callum can help sort this out for you. I don't have v1 installed, otherwise I'd offer to copy/paste from v2 to v1 and back-save to the older format. At least if they can be opened it should be possible to recover the files in some manner. Good luck!

carl123 got a reaction from v_kyr in Designer V2 glitching out on my rotated (portrait orientation) monitor?
Nope, but the first thing I would try is switching off Hardware Acceleration and fiddling with the Metal/OpenGL? stuff that is on a Mac

carl123 got a reaction from R C-R in Save was successful, but access to the file was lost. The document must now be closed
If it opens in Publisher, can't you just do a File > Edit in Designer at that point, rather than copy and pasting?

carl123 got a reaction from anto in Styles for table cells
Ah, I forgot about that requirement
OK, try this...
Set up 2 global colours
One for the cell fill and one for the cell border
Format/design the table using those 2 Global colours
Then just edit the Global colours to change the cells fill and stroke colours as required
That should work

carl123 got a reaction from ashf in Applying the limit zoom to 100% rule to the image after cropping/resizing also
Unfortunately, not in Resample mode, which seems to do a "zoom to fit" after cropping, which can be a bit annoying when cropping a large image to a much smaller one
