Why bother building an entry level PC just to learn how to use affinity software, just go to your local computer store and buy something that has the minimum specification Affinity requires or buy a second hand PC somewhere with the required specs..
Normally you would build you own PC when you wanted something super fast but not wanting to pay a premium for it in a store.
Alternatively if you intend upgrading your self built entry level PC in the future, spend the bulk of your money on the best CPU and Motherboard combination you can find.  Just make sure you have the spare slots needed to add SSD and additional drives and memory later.  Maybe even a better graphics card if Affinity starts using it more in future versions of it's software

The problem is, once you rotate, flip or shear an object, Affinity remembers this so anything inside it will be rotated, flipped or sheared.
You therefore need to fool Affinity into resetting the object. This is basically the same as what Alfred suggests above but looks a bit less drastic. And the cat is more fun
I assume this is what you did, with the bottom shape rotated 180 degrees.

The text in the bottom triangle is now upside down.

To reset the bottom triangle to "normal", first place a shape on top of it and enclosed by the boundaries of it (or parts will be added outside the triangle, which you don't want).
    Any shape will do.

Select the bottom triangle and shape, and go Layer > Geometry > Add

The bottom triangle has taken it's rotation settings from the shape above it (the official Affinity cat).
Now, use the text tool and the text will be normal

Cover the triangle with a larger rectangle, select both shapes and use the ‘Intersect’ Geometry command.

Just trying to increase sales of AP, Alfred.

carl123 reacted to jeff in Measurement dimension templates
Just thought I'd share this. I frequently have to add dimensions to my design work to communicate to developers the specifics of a layout. Currently, there isn't a feature to create these in AD, so I've cobbled together my own workaround version using constrained objects. The benefit is it's pretty easy to resize the dimension to match the size of the element being measured. The downside, you will still have to enter all the numeric dimension manually. Ugh! I know, but a quick check of the Transform module will tell you what size to enter. One other flaw with this system is it doesn't work so well with very small measurements. Anything below 10px vertical and 30px horizontal will have to be manually adjusted because of limitations to how constraints work. Just resize one to below these thresholds and you'll see what I mean. If you know to avoid this situation, please share. To help with this, I made some smaller measurements to get you started. One other item I added to the file is a dark and light overlay to help make the dimensions easier to read. Use the dark one on dark interfaces and the light on lighter ones. There are a couple examples included that illustrate how to use them.
It may seem that the downsides outweigh the benefit, but if you have to have dimensions, then even the seemingly small benefit of easy resizing adds up to hours of time saved on large projects. Hopefully, you find this useful.

When adding styles it's nice to include a JPG showing the styles applied to some objects, with your post, so that users can see the styles in "action" and they can then decide to download the styles file or not.
You will probably get more people downloading them if they look really good on the forum.
Without a sample some people may not bother to download a 58MB file

A third option is you can just use the Erase brush on each of the 6 layers in the stack to erase the artefacts.
It's quite logical once you see how one layer is responsible for the artefacts on another layer

carl123 got a reaction from Alfred in AffPhoto 1.6.7.(Mac)-Blurry layer merge
I think it is because you have a Gaussian blur applied to the shadow Layer and when you merge the two layers the Gaussian blur is applied to the resulting layer.
If you group the 2 layers then rasterise the group you should get the results you want

Instead of using CSS to resize a large image, you should make the image available at several different sizes and use CSS media queries to display the most appropriate one for the user’s device.

They will also take longer to load on your screen, especially on mobiles and on slow broadband connections. They also waste money for people that pay for every data byte they download.

As my luck goes, I spent a good amount of time looking before posting, and shortly after posting I found the answer. So I guess I'll add it here!

Create a shape, click "Fill tool" from the left bar, at the top drop down menu for "Type" select "Bitmap" - Put your photo in, then "Add style from selection" in the styles drop down menu.

    x+(150*a)*sin(360*x/w)

If I understand you correctly the above equation is a good place to start for what you want to achieve.  It should effectively reduce the spacing between the characters on the left and right side of the text frame to simulate a label on a curved bottle.
    1. Centre the text frame horizontally in your document (Important)
    2. Add the equation and adjust Slider A
(text will become wider and the effect may look a little strange at times)
    3. After you apply the equation, reduce text frame width to desired width which should help the text look more natural
You will need to experiment with different values for slider A for different text frame sizes
I have no interest in placing labels on bottles but if you (or anyone) can improve on the above please post back with the steps / results

If you look in the Layers panel you will see that that layer has the designation (Pixel) after it, this means it is a pixel layer and thus cannot be edited as text any longer.
You either somehow converted it to a pixel layer or you imported it as a pixel layer

If you use Layer > New Live Filter Layer > Perspective Filter, rather than the Perspective Tool you will find that Text etc does not get rasterised and remains editable at all time.  By using the Perspective Filter it is also easy to readjust the perspective should you need to do that at anytime
You may find that useful information for your next video.

Resize the clouds to cover the image where you want them
    Select > Reselect
    Select > Invert Pixel Selection
Hit the delete key ( or Edit > Cut )
I am assuming your clouds layer is a Raster Layer and not an Image layer (it it's an image layer you will need to rasterise it first)
