That doesn't sound right, if you initiate a Save, then nothing should be able to cancel that save unless there's a specific Cancel button on the "Saving..." dialogue box. (or in some cases the ESC key)
At the very least the Ctrl+W, done during the save, should give a warnign along the lines of "changes to the file have not been saved do you want to save them?" just like it would do if you try to close a normally edited document
Being able to just close the document (and lose all changes) whilst a save is in progress seems crazy to me.

Fortunately I cant get it to happen on my Windows PC (it always saves once initiated) so maybe it's just a MAC thing

See image. I did not check if this applies also for width of combined cells. EDIT: Same applies for the width of combined cells.
Additionally one wish: If you manually resize cells holding shift the size of the others cells e.g. all cells to the right keep their size. But if you resize a cell via the panel the next cell to the right gets smaller. Maybe you could a box to keep the sizes of neighbour cells?

What version of Windows are you running?
Also try running this program to check what .NET Framework version it says you have installed

There’s a contractual difference, of course, because when you purchase from the Affinity Store your contract is with Serif but when you purchase from the Mac App Store your contract is with Apple. Installation is also different, because the Affinity Store version comes with a product key but the MAS version is tied to your Apple ID, so in the latter case you need to be signed in to the MAS so that you can install the product (via the ‘Purchased’ tab) on each machine, instead of copying and installing a previously downloaded *.dmg file.
In both cases the licence allows you to install the product on any Macs that you own or control, as long as no one other than you is using the app for commercial purposes.

I think "AutoFit Column to Contents" is still broken, it never seems to do what you expect it to do even if you type full words into the cell
    It's been reported before...

One trick you may want to try is to add a letter (or word) in the transparent row at the size you want the row to be.
Select the Row and use the command "AutoFit Row to contents"
Although not perfect, this seems to keep the Row height "fixed" when you (reasonably) resize the table.  (You may need to zoom in/out to refresh/redraw the table)
To hide the letter (or word) you added just set its colour opacity to 0 percent

Just add blank (transparent) rows and columns inbetween your existing rows and columns and format (resize etc) as required.

The latest beta (Windows) has an option called "Transform Objects Separately" which should do what you want to do, if I understand your requirements correctly
I assume the Mac beta also has this option.

I think you will be covered with just the one "classic" license. But check that you do fall into the category below
    From the EULA
"(ii) if you are a commercial enterprise, to download, install, use and run one (1) copy of the Serif Software for use either: (a) by one specific individual on each of the Windows Computer(s) that they use that you own or control, or (b) by multiple individuals on a single shared Windows Computer that you own or control; For example, a single employee may use the Serif Software on both their desktop and laptop Windows Computer, or multiple employees may serially use the Serif Software on a single Windows Computer used as a shared resource."

Well, since it will be of no use to you for this project there's no point me doing so right now, as I have other stuff to do.
But when you have the time create a test document with named layers and see how you get on with the macro.
If you get stuck just post back and I'll try to assist then.

carl123 got a reaction from bowen192 in Any new methods to get rid of halo?
Try the attached "Blur Background" macro, hopefully no halos
    1. Make and refine your selection  (This selection is the object/person you want to remain in focus, i.e. NOT blurred)
    2. Run the Macro
    3. Adjust the strength of the background blur via the added Live Gaussian Blur filter.
The macro is imported and run via the Macro panel, you can then save it to your Macro library if you want to keep it.
It has been tested and seems to work OK but it has not been intensively tested.
It is added here as a RFC and for others to improve upon if they wish to.
Or you can just use it to blur all the in-laws out of your wedding photographs

Cropping in the Develop Persona is destructive
Cropping in the Photo Persona is non-destructive so you need to Rasterise it for it to become destructive

    Glad it worked for you.
