If it's the red "nodes" (red handles) you are looking for, there are no "nodes" on a basic Rectangle for the Node Tool to interact with Try it on a Rounded Rectangle and it will work

Isolate/ unisolate toggle
carl123 replied to Intuos5's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
Sometimes Layer > Show Others does not work for me also But that is a refresh/redraw issue for me, zooming in/out cures it If that's the same for you, you might want to mention it in your bug report- 8 replies

Document Settings
carl123 replied to WesPx's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
For future reference: If you just resize the Artboard your existing layers will not rescale If you need them to, try this... Select the Artboard in the Layers Panel and do Layer > Convert Artboard to Object this will convert it to a Rectangle You can then use Document Setup to resize the document using the Rescale option to rescale all the layers You can then add an Artboard back to your document (using the Artboard Tool) if so desired -
If you simply type 0 into the Tolerance setting it will do it (no slider input) Does it on V2, V2 Beta and 1.10.6 (Windows 11)

In the first screenshot you posted, switch off Hardware Acceleration I have that same graphics "card" and new documents take much longer to open with it on, though not as long as you are experiencing. I also get random crashes and freezing with it on Just switch it off for now and keep it off to eliminate it from any future issues

Best you log that as a bug or documentation error then I don't have a mouse so can't say if it works on Windows or not But the other CTRL key options do

failed to save document error?
carl123 replied to MtotheC's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Your file looks quite simple as regards the number of layers etc but if it was a more complex file, it may not have completely loaded into memory so a File > Save as... may not work in those circumstances. Affinity highly recommends only working on local drives and using external drive for backups only What sort of external drive were you working from/saving to? -
APhoto V2 help file Looks like copying from the Help file is a bit problematic and has missed out words I have updated my post above with the missing words now added in bold

Set focus to close dialog
carl123 replied to bures's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
The less harmful option would be "Cancel" But Windows always seems to select the "Save" option E.g. Notepad on Windows 11 -
From the Help file... When previewing your export, the following modifier keys can be used to zoom in to areas of interest and view the results of different settings applied in the dialog: Hold the CTRL key while scrolling (using a scroll wheel, if available) to zoom in and out of the preview. Hold the Shift key while scrolling (using a scroll wheel, if available) to scroll left or right. Press CTRL + to zoom in. Press CTRL - to zoom out. Press CTRL +1 to zoom to 100%. Press CTRL +0 to zoom to fit.

Forward/Backward nomenclature
carl123 replied to MikeTO's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
Best they redesign the APhoto File menu also as there are currently 9 items that start with the word New or is it just verbs that are the problem -
In the texture file the blend modes work but you need another layer beneath them to see the effect (try another jpg placed below your image- resize it to fill the canvas) The Render file has 100s of Partially Transparent pixels giving the Dots effect. You can see them if you do Select > Select Alpha Range > Select Partially Transparent with the image layer selected
