@carl123
As far as i know a single click is enough to select the source in the Sources panel. Am i missing something?
Yes single click seems to work
But in the video
at around 1:20 - 1:25 he says double click, which is why I did it that way initially

There are some Youtube videos for teeth whitening using affinity photo

Try invoking it after making a selection on the image. :) (The shortcut Alt+Backspace doesn't seem to do anything here.)
Ah, I see what it does now - could be useful in Inpainting some tricky selections.
you're right though Alt+Backspace seems inactive
Another one to add to the bugs list?

The Global Cloning video here (https://vimeo.com/149628411) does not even mention the Sources Panel and following the instructions it does not work until you go into the sources panel and double click your source
(It may have been made for an earlier version of AP)
This later video on Global Cloning is much, much more informative

Centering text inside a box is one thing; centering something within a specific area is another. It's the latter I'm interested in. Thanks.
Rather than using a selection and trying to align to that (which does not work) just create a temporary quick shape rectangle where you would have created the selection.
Move your text on top of the rectangle, select both the rectangle and your text frame and then use the align tools to position the text precisely within the rectangle.
Then just hide or delete the rectangle when done.

Try

Not sure about seamless rotation but you have Rotate Left and Rotate Right under the View menu which rotates in 15 degree intervals
You should be able to assign shortcuts to these

Not sure on the pipette question
But here is another thread on removing red skin

Just tested and an image of 570px wide (72dpi) will show as 760px wide when placed in a document created at 96dpi, which appears to be what you are getting.
Note: If you change the dpi of the document AFTER you have placed the image this will not correct the "problem" for images that have already been placed.
If you still cant find the problem please upload a new AD document with a placed image that shows the problem plus a separate copy of the image you are trying to place, then hopefully someone should be able to see what is happening.
PS Immediately after creating the new document, select the option, File > Save History With Document, which will show us the exact steps you are taking

If this is going to be a permenant error then I think I want my money back.
If such a minor thing upsets you that much it's probably best to get a refund.
Affinity Photo is new and there is a lot more stuff you are going to find that is not quite right as yet.
Alternatively you could just report any bugs/problems you find, on this forum, as the developers are pretty quick in getting things fixed.

Make sure the DPI of the image you are placing, is the same as the document.
A mismatch can cause what you are seeing

....
And how would you convince your boss to buy Affinity Photo and/or Designer?
1. Show him / her the Affinity Photo video https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/
2. Show him / her the Affinity Designer video https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/designer/
3. Tell him / her the price
4. If he / she is still not convinced it's time to look for another boss

When you buy the software you will receive an Order Confirmation email, you will find a link in that email to download the macros
-
There is no autosave as such but there is a File Recovery Interval option which you can adjust.
Edit > Preferences > performance

Also, as I didn't download it, can I still get the macro pack, once I learn what's in it, and if I decide I do want it after all?
Just go get it now, you don't have to install it until you want to.

Looks to be Mac specific.
Not important then

Works as expected on Windows AP
Duplicate Layer just duplicates the selected area no matter which way you do it
-
See this thread
and check you have "Add" set for the Selection Brush and "New" or "Add" set for the Free Hand selection tool

Under the View menu
Make sure you have Show Pixel Selection ticked

Selection brush

There is no new option for the selection brush, are you sure you have the right tool?
A screenshot of your screen or a video of what you are doing may be useful
