  1. I have two monitors (Windows 8.0) If I open Help in Affinity Designer and maximise the Help window, I can move the Help screen to my second monitor using Windows Key, Left Shift and Right arrow But I cant move it back using Windows Key, Left Shift and Left arrow Notes: 1. This only happens if Help screen is maximised, otherwise it is OK 2. This does not occur in Affinity Photo, the Help screen can be moved from one screen to the other and back again as required. 3. I am using the paid for versions of both products Is anyone else seeing this problem or is it something weird on my setup?
  2. Will also crash using same procedure if you use Smooth selection
  3. Program crashes on paid for release and RC2 1. Open any jpg 2. Use Selection Brush to make a selection 3. Feather selection and then using keyboard arrow keys make feather value a negative value, program crashes when negative value is about minus 4
  4. @Rob Your previous post on the same subject had a reply please check this link https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/30305-videos-not-playing-on-startup-screen/?p=147059
  5. Document > Resize Document - bug on RC2 The application still crashes if you put in 0px and hit the Resize button as first reported here ... https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/28316-resize-document-to-0px-will-crash-program/
  6. You can use View > Reset Rotation to reset (undo) the rotation I don't think the View > Rotate commands are supposed to be undoable with Ctrl Z or via the history panel, just like you cant undo a Zoom command that way
  7. See if this helps https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/28038-darker-pics-in-affinity-photo-beta-on-windows/
  8. @verysame Will this work for what you want to do? Select > Alpha Range > Select Opaque Then use Edit > Fill
  9. Yes it's much more powerful and a welcome addition but that simple undo / redo button is so much quicker and something we have all got used to over the years. Removing it was like losing a life long friend. At least consider giving us the option to add it back to the interface under customisation options.
  10. As a workaround, for now, you can draw a circle shape from the centre point, using Ctrl+Shift (or just Ctrl for an ellipse) Then use Ctrl+Shift+o to create a selection from the shape, then delete the shape, leaving just the selection But I agree, having those modifier keys added to the selection tool would be very useful
  11. Another way to do this is.... After the steps needed to resize the canvas, creating the new layer, repositioning, and filling with a colour to create a border... ...you can then use the effects panel to add an Outline (use Alignment = Inside) to add another colour to the border layer
  12. Just to add to this Gradient Overlay bug If you click on "None" or the white color circle that will also crash the program (picture attached)
  13. 1. Open any jpg 2. Add gradient overlay 3. Click to change colour of any node 4. Click the "no colour" icon and program crashes Picture attached
  14. Double clicking the magnify icon on the Tool Bar gives, Zoom 100% If working on a photograph - double clicking the picture on the background layer in the layers tab, generally, gives Zoom to Fit
  15. 1. Make your selection 2. Use Ctrl+J to make a new layer from the selection 3. Use Arrange > Flip Vertical (or Flip Horizontal) to flip the layer
  16. Just got my cross hairs back (not sure how) but for the Pen they only work consistently when I disable Windows Ink. (But that stops the Pen pressure from working, for me) Interestingly, if I reenable Windows Ink and use the Mouse to start drawing I get the cross hairs, I can then pick up my Pen and continue working on the document and the cross hairs will remain but as soon as I move the cursor off the document to (e.g.) a menu I lose the cross hairs and they don't come back when the Pen is returned to the document. I have to reuse the mouse to reactivate the cross hairs and then the Pen will work with them again. (Just adding that information for the Developers, if it helps) One more thing to add is that the cross hairs do NOT appear if your brush size it too small and/or you have zoomed out of the document a lot. I think this is by design rather than a bug. But just be aware of this when trying to fix this problem on your PC and always use a big brush size whilst testing stuff.
  17. 1. See this thread https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/28705-brush-tool-dimension/ 2. I think that's a known bug being worked on
  18. It could do. I have a Wacom and was playing with this yesterday. At one point I got the cross hairs to show on my pen but I had to disable Windows Ink to do it. But disabling Windows Ink stops any pen pressure settings from working on my PC in AP. So I gave up. Will probably look at this again only when the final product is released as the cross hairs are not that important to me. PS I also have a mouse attached to this PC and the mouse, yesterday, displayed the cross hairs correctly but with all my mucking about yesterday I seem to have broken that, as today I get no cross hairs when using the mouse Like I said not important to me at this time but it may help you investigate this further
  19. Not sure if this will help or not as I do not know how you work exactly, but if you.... Select > All (Ctrl+A) ...then items which are hidden are not selected in the Layers panel. So as you scroll through them the locked items tend to stand out as they are deselected. Which makes finding them a bit quicker. 1. Not much use if you routinely lock all items, but could be useful if you only have a few locked items. 2. You may have to expand the Layer to see the item, but hopefully you know at least what layer the item is on.
  20. Maybe a new, selectable, checkbox option in Preferences, could be added, like... When merging visible layers delete old layers Then people can get the function to work how they are used to it working, or like it does now
