You can tile any picture but how convincing it looks in the end depends on how much information you have in the original picture plus how much time you want to spend with the healing brush after the offsetting. The attached image was done in Affinity Photo using MaryLou's original (not seamless) image and would be fine for a kid's bedroom wallpaper but I would not enter it into any graphics competition. @MaryLou (assuming you also have Affinity Photo) just follow this YouTube link but bear in mind Affinity has an Affine Filter not an Offset one but it does the same thing Not sure how you would do this if you only have Designer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chFSIUXe1Ro

Version 2 would need to have lots of new (currently unheard of) features to persuade people to pay to upgrade to it. Currently the Dev team seem focused on fixing existing bugs, implementing features from the 1.x roadmap and Affinity Publisher . So unless Serif have part of their team simultaneously working on new version 2.0 features I doubt we will be seeing even a beta version anytime in the next 2 - 3 years. As regards upgrade pricing, Serif have in the past always offered upgrade pricing to existing customers (the Plus range) but as the software is already incredibly cheap for what it does, only time will tell if there are to be any financial incentives to upgrade.

I could only repeat what I have already said but if you did not understand it the first time, repeating it would be pointless I will though add that a phrase like "or any other means" is a catch-all phrase that has no right being in any software licensing agreement. It is like the person drafting the agreement knew about running the software off a network but not how else it could be run, so just threw that phrase in there to try to cover any additional ways the software could have been run. Licenses have to be explicit in what is allowed and what is not allowed, even more so when they are to be directed towards lay people rather than corporate lawyers. "or any other means" is ambiguous and hence now causing all this confusion over that one little phrase. It should never have been in that license but it is still clear that section 1 allows simultaneous use of the software when used as directed in section 1
-
The license agreement specifically states in section 1 1.if you are a private individual, to download, install, use and run for personal use, one (1) copy of the Serif Software directly on each computer running Microsoft Windows (“Windows Computer”) that you personally own or control. The key terms are "use and run" and "on each computer" which would imply simultaneous running to any lay person. If software should not be used simultaneously on more than one computer then the license should explicitly state that. The section on "network usage or any other means" is preceded by Except to the extent expressly allowed in this License: Which is what section 1 is all about

Work loosing bug when saving and out of space
carl123 replied to TEcHNOpls's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on Windows threads
What happens if you clear up some free space on the previously full drive, then Select All on the document, copy and paste everything to a new document then try to save the new document? -
Saving images
carl123 replied to AndrewW's topic in Tutorials (Serif and Customer Created Tutorials)
As you have found out afphoto files can be huge and according to Serif doing a final Save As... is the best way to save the file at it's minimum size but they will still be huge. There are some things such as not saving the history with the file, deleting layers no longer needed, resizing the document down to the smallest dimensions you will ever need, rasterising layers, clipping the canvas, etc etc etc which can reduce the size but it will still be huge and it's a pain in the neck to have to do all this just to conserve disk space. In your case, assuming your usage is for personal use and thus not generating dozens of new files every week, I would just invest in an external drive for your Laptop and periodically move your finished afphoto files from the Laptop to the external drive thus keeping the space free on your Laptop and optimising it's performance in this respect. PS Although you can work off an external drive directly it is not recommended as the Affinity programs can have problems if the drive disconnects or goes to sleep during your use of it. -
A small thing: resizing by percentage
carl123 replied to ratrogue's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
No, same result But I deliberately used the 100/25 notation to show the mathematically challenged amongst us how to equate it to percentages -

Nope, and don't call me surely -
A small thing: resizing by percentage
carl123 replied to ratrogue's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Macros can resize by percentage using the Equations filter e.g. r=r*100/75 will resize to 75% r=r*100/50 will resize to 50% r=r*100/25 will resize to 25% Within the macro you will need to clip the canvas afterwards and do a bit of inpainting to get rid of any transparent pixels around the edges -
Macro Issue
carl123 replied to DoodleDoo's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
The File > New Batch Job command allows you to save into a different folder It also allows you to run a Macro So creating a macro then running it through the batch job dialogue box whilst saving it to a new folder may do what you need A bit convoluted for one image but if you wanted to run your macro on several images then this is the way to do it -

Menus

The View > Studio menu is particularly annoying If I want to switch on/off 3 or 4 studio panels I have to go through the entire procedure 3 or 4 times -
A quick cut and paste test suggests it's probably not worth the effort doing this properly with these images. The lady in particular is virtually covered in 2 places on the final composition and the only full shot of her just shows her back. There is nothing there to convincingly suggest it is the same lady in 3 different positions. A really nice idea for a picture but it needs thinking about before taking the individual shots. (not easy) Oh, and get a tripod, the background needs to be the same (pixel aligned) in all images, minor fluctuations will make the final alignment much harder
