  1. You need to add a Fill layer and then apply the gradient to that layer Then you will be able to adjust it Goto Layer > New Fill Layer
  2. @Alice The Offset filter is called the Affine filter in Affinity Photo and you can use that to create repeating patterns but this filter is not available in Designer so the instructions you have will not work You may want to have a look at the later posts in this thread for more advice
  3. The Inpainting tool would struggle to remove such a large part of this particular picture and give you the effect you want. It may be easier just selecting then erasing the man on the left then filling in the gaps using parts of the original picture, like in my example below
  4. Zoom in Use the Selection brush (25px) to select just the middle of the stem without the white part Click Refine and set smoothing to 10px Output as New Layer Switch this new layer off then goto background layer and use the Inpainting brush to "erase" the original stem Switch the new "Stem" Layer back on. (see attached) PIC_2925b.afphoto
  5. I never had a problem with the document on screen but the Navigator panel did clearly show the problem Changing it to 16bit cured it and then changing it straight back to 32bit did not reintroduce the problem. The Navigation panel display seems OK now (Hope that helps someone) Windows 8.0
  6. Hi MEB That sounds worth looking into. I'm on Windows though so will have to find something that integrates well with the Affinity apps and is Windows based
  7. Thanks, no good to me then, there is no way I could remember what fonts I have uninstalled, whilst in Affinity and scrolling through my available fonts. Someone needs to design a font manager where all fonts are shown in the application you are using whether they are installed or not and if you click to use an uninstalled one the program immediately loads it so it is available to use from them on. That way I could uninstall all my fonts downloaded over the years and start again from scratch thereby only adding fonts I actually use now to my system
  8. Are these uninstalled fonts visible to the Affinity Apps with some sort of marker to say they are uninstalled or do you have to remember what fonts you have uninstalled?
  9. You can select all the text and try adjusting the tracking in the character panel Or, as an alternative way, Power Duplicating will allow you to specify precise degrees to get the spacing exactly right for a circle
  10. If you are working on full size images you can try this Apply the Mesh Warp to the image and click Apply Then select the Mask layer in the Layers panel and under the Filters menu the 1st option will be Repeat Mesh Warp Which will apply the same warp to the Mask Layer If working with images (or objects) that are smaller then the canvas, you first need to restrict the mask to the size of the placed image (or object) then do the above
  11. It's not advisable to use cloud storage or external drives etc which can disconnect, hibernate or go to sleep as that causes an unrecoverable file error resulting in loss of your work
  12. Not sure exactly what you want to do here But a gradient with transparency can be saved as a Style then the Style can be applied to an object in a macro
  13. Hi PHotography Can you upload the original image please as what you have uploaded does not seem right to me. Would like to see what you initially had to work with to see how you then produced this image
  14. The Flood Select Tool with Contiguous set on is usually the easier of the two options when you have white stuff you want to keep
  15. Erase White Paper will also erase white stuff you want to keep not just the white background
  16. First thing is to check you have the layer selected in the layers panel then check the Opacity and Flow of the brushes is set to 100%
  17. You could just add a gold coloured noise image, mask the triangle to the image then adjust the Blend Ranges of the image to make it partially transparent in places.
  18. Adding a pixel layer with a suitable blend mode and then Appling the Perlin Noise to that, may give you a bit more flexibility to alter the effect afterwards By modifying such things as the Pixel layer's Opacity, Masking parts of the effect, Stretching and Rotating the pixel layer and adding adjustments/effects directly to this layer. You can also duplicate the layer to increase the initial Perlin effect if needed. The attached screenshot is just to show the extra degree of flexibility you can have by using a separate pixel layer rather than having the effect baked into the image
  19. Try switching off "Protect Alpha" in the context tool bar for the brush
  20. You can also use a grid Which is flexible enough to allow different widths and height for the individual components of the grid plus different gutter settings.
  21. Make a new grid in Blue exactly the same size of the old Black grid and place it on top of the old grid Or upload the picture if you want more practical answers without the guesswork
  22. What program are you using (Photo or Designer) and how are you doing the stretching?
