  1. Here's a macro that uses Equations to create a "long shadow" effect. Originally designed for text but works on shapes as well. Use any colour for your text or object except black The shadow depth can be increased by immediately running the macro a second or third time (or more) Shadows are created in groups, so you can change the opacity of the Group to control the shadow opacity Could probably have created a macro using power duplicate commands to get the same effect but Equations are cool so would like to see more effects created by people using them The Equation is about as simple as you can get and is shown below x=x-1 y=y-1 shadows2.afmacro
  2. If you add a small (1%) Point light to an image and measure it's x,y coordinates using guides, when you initially resize the image (e.g. larger) the x,y coordinates of the new Point light position are the same. If the x,y coordinates for the Point light had been programmed in percentages rather than pixels then resizing the document would have had the expected results. The madness with the history panel is either a bug or a case of collective hallucinations
  3. Try this Before unclipping the document Invert the adjustment/mask layer (Ctrl + I on the thumbnail) Then unclip Then Invert the adjustment/mask layer again Don't have time to test properly but it seemed to work on what I was working on
  4. @emptyflask We know the crop functionality is being rewritten but we do not know what it will contain or exactly when it will happen and Serif do not give ETA's for these sort of updates. In the meantime there are some workarounds you can use... To Crop to Canvas 1. Make your selection 2. Invert Selection 3. Delete 4. Clip Canvas Steps 2 to 4 can be made into a macro if you do a lot of this sort of stuff Constraining the crop to the actual image area Not sure I understand exactly what you mean but if you have snapping switched on then the crop boundaries will snap to the edges of your image when adjusted
  5. @Phil_rose You have the selection brush set to Subtract switch it to Add
  6. In the Pixel Persona 1. Select all 4 lines in the Layers panel 2. Use the selection brush to select the area you want to fill (switch Snap to edges on) 3. Add a Pixel Layer and flood fill it with your colour
  7. From what I can see the Sphere filter extends from the centre point of the image. So with snapping switched on you can add a small ellipse to the centre point of the image then using the CTRL key extend it from the centre until it reaches the radius of the filter effect
  8. @RC-R In your example changing the Diffuse or Shininess affects the whole picture which would not be what you want when just adding lighting effects to the amber parking lights. In the attached, reworked example, changing Diffuse or Shininess only affects the area you are trying to illuminate thus giving you greater control on the exact lighting effect you want to achieve for the parking lights. (And by using separate lighting layers it also lets you control each parking light individually) Porche blink2.afphoto
  9. When using multiple Live Lighting Layers the Diffuse, Specular & Shininess of each lighting layer can be changed separately. Giving you greater control over the effects you want. File attached if you want to have a play with it. PS I have "hacked" the attached screenshot to show both light positions at the same time. You can't actually see them both at the same time, just one at a time by clicking on the respective Lighting layer. apples2.afphoto
  10. Yeah, the only way I could get it to work was by breaking curves I thought I was missing some extra geometry commands they had forgotten to teach me in school
  11. Drag plus Right mouse Button to add to the selection or click Add in the selection tool's context toolbar
  12. How? I can't see the way to do this just with Geometry commands
  13. See attached file (Remember to Lock Children, when moving Ellipses) girl5.afphoto
  14. With something like this I would first create an ellipse the exact size of the round part of the watch, then convert that ellipse to a selection, from then on just switch to the selection brush to select the rest of the watch. After refining you can output as a new layer, reselect the stored selection, invert it and hit delete to get rid of any pixels that may be bleeding into the background
  15. @sbishop1488 Upload the picture if you can, different pictures need different techniques
  16. Does the RMB work on its own in AP? If not check your Wacom button assignments again. Button assignments can be set differently for different applications within the Wacom Tablet software, AP might not have the RMB assigned the same as other applications
  17. If you also have Designer you can create a symbol (blue rectangle), create another and flip it, then draw on the original rectangle More complex designs can be done with multiple instances of the symbol rotated appropriately
  18. If using Artboards there is no need to group just select all the objects in the layer panel you want to have the same fill then apply the fill You can also do this without Artboards
  19. If you group the items you want to have the same fill (pattern), then apply the fill to the group all items will have the same fill size and rotation PS You can ungroup them afterwards and the fill will remain
  20. I can confirm that the fault did exist exactly as you described it when I tried yesterday and today it is all working correctly. Maybe someone at Serif HQ can install the new beta on a fresh machine and then try to recreate the problem (Windows 8.0)
