  1. A workaround, maybe? Duplicate the Text layer Add your shadow effect to bottom Text layer Switch to Erase tool Erase shadow where it is not wanted
  2. Make sure Document > Transparent Background is ticked (or you wont see the transparency) Select the layer in the Layers panel CTRL + I (to invert layer) Filters > Colours > Erase White Paper CTRL + I (to undo invert layer)
  3. x+(150*a)*sin(360*x/w) If I understand you correctly the above equation is a good place to start for what you want to achieve. It should effectively reduce the spacing between the characters on the left and right side of the text frame to simulate a label on a curved bottle. 1. Centre the text frame horizontally in your document (Important) 2. Add the equation and adjust Slider A (text will become wider and the effect may look a little strange at times) 3. After you apply the equation, reduce text frame width to desired width which should help the text look more natural You will need to experiment with different values for slider A for different text frame sizes I have no interest in placing labels on bottles but if you (or anyone) can improve on the above please post back with the steps / results
  4. If you undock a panel or move a panel to another position that move only applies to the persona you are in when you moved it. Thus in each persona you can set a different panel arrangement depending how you want it. If you want the Navigator panel to be in the same position when you enter the Pixel persona, you have to move it there when you are in the Pixel persona. After you do that, when you move between the Draw persona and Pixel persona the Navigator panel will be in the same place.
  5. Muse is a dead product so don't bother looking at that Some of the worst websites I have seen have been created with WordPress. Too many plugins, similar themes and way too slow loading pages on both desktop and mobile devices
  6. Recently found about 250 arrow characters "hidden" in the Segeo UI Symbol font. Some of them may be useful to some people.
  7. Some shapes, like the Double Star shape and the Cog shape can make shapes with (uniformed) distorted edges if you play with the settings edges.afdesign
  8. Can you upload one of your Raw files so I can check what I see on my Windows PC?
  9. You are in List view, click the drop down arrow and select one of the icon views What do you see now?
  10. @ RC-R It looks like having this option ticked (see picture below) "Convert opened files to working space" causes your specific "Save as..." large file problem If I enable it I also get a 20MB file Try disabling it and see what you get I wonder if the batch file process is also doing some sort of "conversion to working space"
  11. Yup, something weird going on here If I take the JPG file and batch process it to make an AP file it becomes a 20MB file !!! Something has to be broken somewhere What size do other users get if they simply batch process the JPG file to create an AP file?
  12. Attached is the original JPG file, when I open it and do a "Save as" to AP file format I get a file size of 2.29MB, which is reasonable for Windows @RC-R What do you get?
  13. I'm not seeing that, if I open the uploaded file and do a "Save as" it is still 2.23MB. It's only when I try to batch process it, it increases to 20MB
  14. AP has a batch mode feature and I had thought that simply running the batch process on existing AP files, saving to the same format but a different directory would effectively be the same as doing a "Save as.." on these files to a new directory, thus overcoming the problem with "incremental saving" and thus producing streamlined versions of the files at a much reduced file size. So I took a random sample of 35 AP files, total file size of 461MB Ran the batch job and the result was, 35 AP files, total file size of 591MB So rather than the decrease I was expecting the total file size increased by 130MB Comparing individual files, all but the very smallest (under 500K) showed an increase in size and some quite dramatic increases So I took one example which was initially 2.23MB and ran the batch process again, just on that one file, and it increased to 20MB Just to be sure I took the same file copied it to a different PC and ran the test again with the same result The test file I used is attached (not one of mine) Can anyone explain (or hazard a guess) as to what is going on? yellow2.afphoto
  15. If you look in the Layers panel you will see that that layer has the designation (Pixel) after it, this means it is a pixel layer and thus cannot be edited as text any longer. You either somehow converted it to a pixel layer or you imported it as a pixel layer
  16. It's not the same as Photoshop, you cant automatically select the text when clicking in the Layer's panel. Double (or triple) click the text on the canvas to select it
  17. Instead of choosing 1x, 2x, 3x, etc Try typing in 0.5x, 0.25x, etc
  18. The picture in AP is zoomed in... apparently, to see an accurate representation of what will be exported you need to view it at 100% zoom Does changing the zoom to 100% match, on screen, what you are seeing in the exported results?
  19. Hard to be certain with the images you have supplied but there is currently a bug with the Live Perspective Filter which distorts the image and you may be encountering that. You can work around it but it's tricky and currently takes a bit of playing around to get it to work as required. Development are aware but no time frame at the moment for when it will be fixed. PS Working at 100% zoom helps a lot when trying to work around the bug
  20. Sure, this one is my favourite use for the Live Perspective Filter If you use an embedded AP document as the object you want to apply the Perspective Filter to, you get the option to Edit the embedded document which will give you the original flat document to work with. If you have 2 screens (or display both documents on the one screen) you can see the Perspective image change in "real time" as you update the (flat) embedded document.
  21. If you use Layer > New Live Filter Layer > Perspective Filter, rather than the Perspective Tool you will find that Text etc does not get rasterised and remains editable at all time. By using the Perspective Filter it is also easy to readjust the perspective should you need to do that at anytime You may find that useful information for your next video.
  22. Hi Nice and clear video but I believe you are mistaken when you are demonstrating the Live Perspective Projection You effectively say ... "You cant use any other layers and you can't put text on the projection" In reality, you simply add these layers as normal then use the Merge Down command to merge them into the Background layer This video will show you how he merges down an image layer at around the 5:04 mark You just do the same for Text Layers or other layers you create
