I think the option "Automatically update linked resources when modified externally" refers to another app modifying the linked resource not the same app as you are currently using E.g. if the linked document was in Publisher but you modified it in Designer/Photo then that option would be honoured I think that option is irrelevant when using the same app to modify the linked resource, which kind of makes perfect sense (Why would you not want to see the change immediately) The toast messages that appears saying the linked resource has been modified is just an informative message that will always appear, no matter what the option "Automatically update linked resources when modified externally" is set to

In light thumbnail background mode, the background is always 205,205,205 The colours in the thumbnails are the same RGB colours of the actual layers/objects You can check this with the colour picker in the Colour panel (set thumbnail size to "Large Thumbnails" to better pick a colour from them) As your design colours (object colours) approach 205,205,205 they will appear with little contrast against the light thumbnail background and will appear invisible if set to exactly 205.205.205 Not sure how Affinity could cater for this unless they used dynamic/changeable thumbnail background colours that change depending on the colour of the layer/object but I can imagine that becoming a bit of a visual mess. Have you/anyone seen how other similar software apps get around this "problem"?

They look a bit overpowering and are distracting from the rest of the image, for me. You might want to compare it to something more subtle You also have 2 more anomalies. One on the tree on the left, which looks like someone accidentally dabbed a white dot with the Paint Brush. The second is a strange ring of white dots on the right-hand side

How do I turn spelling off?
carl123 replied to Rainieria's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
In Publisher untick Text > Spelling > Check Spelling While Typing In Publisher's pre-flight panel, edit the preset profile for the Spelling option and disable that option -
There are 2 version of each of the Affinity apps, MSIX and EXE I believe each can co-exist on the same PC So, it's possible you inadvertently installed the wrong version when you "updated". Resulting in a second installation of the same app Best course of action is to uninstall the last version you installed (the 2.2.1 version) and to correctly install/update your MSIX or EXE version - depending on which you installed originally

More than one license in a business

Affinity used to allow you to purchase a redemption code so you could "gift" the software to someone else. Serif, has that been discontinued? -
batch export tabs
carl123 replied to arifg's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Why not just separate and edit each picture as separate Layers in one Affinity document You can then use the export persona to batch export all the different Layers (pictures) to jpg,png,tiff... files -
I ran the macro and used Resource Manager to link the watermark file. I then opened that file and saw that it is in RGBA/16 format That is the only thing I find "odd" Is there any reason you used that format for the watermark?

As a substitute for copy and & paste inside You should be able to use Layer > Duplicate (CTRL+J) and Arrange > Move Inside to move the duplicated layer inside the target layer - which will work correctly in a macro But as I don't fully understand what you are doing it's hard to advise further at this stage

Replace all elements
carl123 replied to jdelpt's topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I do not speak/understand the language in your movie But if all the files in Resource Manager are the same file and they show in Resource Manager as Embedded and you can change them to Linked, you may be able to just replace/update that one linked file (outside of the Resource Manager) and all the ones in your document will update also -
Some notes: 1. I like the fact that the dog and the woman seem to be looking in the same direction at something offscreen 2. You seem to have introduced 2 anomalies into the scene (see screenshot below) 3. I think the handbag in the ambulance looks a little out of place 4. After the lady's face swap, I assume you just intend to add the father into the scene to complete it. If so, then that's the point where you need to do the final tweaks and blend everything together. Looking forward to seeing the final composite

Dashed lines / stroke panel Improvements
carl123 replied to Ash's topic in [ARCHIVE] 2.3, 2.2 & 2.1 Features and Improvements
I assumed you were talking about the last 2 lines in your screenshot but as they are visible there, I'm afraid I'm not sure what you are referring to? Maybe someone else will know -
Dashed lines / stroke panel Improvements
carl123 replied to Ash's topic in [ARCHIVE] 2.3, 2.2 & 2.1 Features and Improvements
It's still visible for me Can you upload a screenshot of what you are seeing. i.e. the dialogue where it is missing? So we can see what you are describing -
The Clone Tool also has a "Layers Beneath" source option but if selected the Healing Brush Tool has no corresponding option so the source option there is left blank Which means when you try to use the Healing Brush Tool nothing works (until you change it) Blank is not a normal option for the Healing Brush Tool so I think they should look at that as well Windows 11
