Now we have saved the document on a local volume. The result is the same and we cannot save the document with another name.

Thank you very much for your helpfull post. But if this is the problem, the software is not made for professional use.

The files are all saved on a NAS Server

Hello, thank you very much for your help. I think we will restart by zero. The document was saved as afpub document- so we do not understand the problem at all.
It´s not the first time we had such a problem with affinity.

I have an IDML file constantly crashing Publisher on Mac. Our Document is about 200 pages, could this be the problem?

Das Programm stürzt ständig ab.
Woran kann das liegen?
Following message in a 200 pages document we have reached in publisher "Dokumentendatei beschädigt, die Datei muss nun geschlossen werden"! That´s not funny, we are working for a Magazin and we need to go to print.

Here's my answer as to why we wanted to switch from Indesign to Affinity. After working well with Indesign for more than 12 years, we had to change our computer and only the Adobe cloud solution with monthly fees came into question. Unfortunately, we thought wrong, as the system crashed repeatedly and for inexplicable reasons, and not least because of the high volume of print data, which made transmission and handling at the printer difficult.
On our last project, nearly 80 pages crashed. that almost cost us a customer. These are not good conditions if you use the software as a tool to make money.
