I have just read through the article which I believe I will have to read a couple of more times to fully understand.

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well. 

I am new to Affinity Designer was using a free software called Inkscape, I have gone through the tutorial videos but am unsure still of whether I can create a background water color effect to use in my designs as a clipping mask.

In Inkscape there is an option to draw a shape using the pen tool then fill it with color and click on effects then water color. 

Can not find this in Affinity Designer, can I only use brushes to do a water color background.
