Geht mir genau so.

    Hi there,
is there any option to create /change a smoothing paths from countless nodes?
i have a big puzzle put together to one object and thousands of nodes. I would like to reduce them.
Convert: "smooth" does not work, may be because it's an "union object"

In a professional workflow, one usually paints in the hair manually after masking until it looks natural (which requires some experience, skill and time). You can use dedicated hair brushes for this (from 1 single hair to a whole bunch of them), which can be found in the web or which you could create yourself.

I think the problem Mischugo is experiencing is one I get a lot as I do many publisher articles and web pages where you need to cut out the background. Often the images supplied are with backgrounds that have a mixture of colours some with very little variation in colour to the subject image. If we had nice plain contrasting background on images as per the tutorial vid it would be great, but take the image referred to in the previous post, the hair is almost the same colour of the background.
Suggestions on how to do work with these type of images would be great. I know that manipulation colour channels has been mentioned in previous articles about images of text on discoloured paper. Is this something that would help?

    Hi @Mischugo,
I don't know what tutorials you have seen but have you tried to check the official one located here? It goes through the usual steps for this kind of selection. Let me know if this helps of if you still have issues.

    Hello,
I have a graphic with about 30,000 anchor points. But maybe only 100 would be necessary.
How can you simplify the graphic? I mean in some programs there is an extra tool "simplify" or something like that ... Unfortunately I don't find anything at Affinity Designer. If there is one, where could I find it?

    Thanks a lot

    Sorry, but it's really pathetic.
The programs have really great features, but are sometimes so terrible to use. I switched back to a cheap subscription to Photoshop two weeks ago. And it will probably be similar with Affinity Designer. Working with the slice tool alone is driving me crazy.

It's been a year. And I guess there are also older posts about organizing and saving workspaces. Now there is an update and still everything is as before. Dear Affinity Team, what is so hard about this step of improvement to go. It's certainly not due to expertise. Aren't you allowed? Do you have a "nerd" as project manager who has nothing in mind with usability? Or are you just stubborn? Take a look around the real world and see how something like this works.  Then you'll notice how useful it is. I am glad that I can still use Photoshop.

I hear you. Developing software is hard, and I have to assume the developers are doing their best. But I too feel so frustrated by this software sometimes. It was a hugely ambitious task, to create new software from the ground up to compete with (or even improve upon) Adobe's very mature (and noticeably ageing) product offering. It's like they got 90% of the way there! But it's that 10% which can end up costing you hours of time and frustration, hey. I still recommend Affinity's apps to those who are looking to escape from Adobe… but I do have a love-hate relationship with the apps for sure. 😕

Please add my vote to have this feature added. I like to have my panels set up a specific way on my second monitor. It's frustrating to have to rearrange and resize the panels every time I open a new image. Surely it can't be too hard a feature to add?????

Many thanks for the helpful information. I look very rarely here, because I don't use Affinity very often anymore. Especially because so many things didn't really work or were missing. I don't doubt the ability of the team. But, sorry, I'm only interested in the result :-)

    Thanks again

Sorry, I just don't have time for beta versions right now. Affinity is not the only provider of software. And "thank God" I don't have to use it every day either.

I'm not sure, but I think Affinity is in a game of deep sleep. At least if you think about the updates ;-)
