  1. Apple has been letting things slip, it's true. Trying to make macos work like ios and it causes me nothing but headaches.
  2. It looked like I had an empty document window. This application violates too many fundamental macos UI conventions for me to be able to use it.
  3. I don't find videos suitable for learning. I find reading a manual suitable. I've had enough frustration already with the app blatantly violating basic UI conventions of macos, though, that I've asked for a refund. Maybe if it becomes a better platform citizen I'll give it another try.
  4. I definitely had a document window open. Oh. Wait. You're saying cmd+W closes the document—but it didn't close the document window! Er, tab. Because apparently this app on a windowing desktop can't do separate document windows. *sigh* Oh hang on, I can get separate windows but the toolbar is also separate instead of belonging to each window like on every other macos app. This is unworkable.
  5. After having cmd+W delete my only master page (filed separately), I tried to create a new master page. Designer wasn't having it. First I tried expanding the Master Pages thing, which made the Pages thing disappear completely. Then, I clicked the Add Master button several times, but nothing happened. Are you using the latest release version? yes Can you reproduce it? yes Does it happen for a new document? If not can you upload a document that shows the problem? Yes, if I create a new document, and press cmd+W, it deletes the one master page and then Add Master doesn't work. If you cannot provide a sample document then please give an accurate description of the problem for example it should include most of the following: What is your operating system and version (Windows 10, OSX Mojave, iOS 12 etc)? Macos monterey 12.4 Is hardware acceleration (in Preferences > Performance) ON or OFF ? (and have you tried the other setting?) Yes What happened for you (and what you expected to happen) See above Provide a recipe for creating the problem (step-by-step what you did). See above Screenshots (very handy) or a screen capture/video. Attached. Any unusual hardware (like tablets or external monitors or drives that may affect things) or relevant other applications like font managers or display managers. No Did this same thing used to work and if so have you changed anything recently? (software or hardware) I don't know I am a new user. No Master.mov
  6. I would like to read the manuals for these apps. All I can find is online help done up in an outline combined with hidden text on each entry. It's like a series of Russian dolls that I have to click, and click, and click, to drill down into the details of each topic, instead of simply reading and turning pages (or scrolling). If there are downloadable, flat, manuals, please let me know where they are. If there aren't, you must have the information somewhere in structured form, hopefully in a system that could produce a continuous document. I would greatly appreciate having access to the documentation in such form, thanks.
  7. I don't want consistency with Windows—I want consistency with the other apps on my computer! Cmd+W on the mac is supposed to close the front window. Always and without exception. It's far more than a mere annoyance. If I can't trust this application to follow the most basic UI guidelines of the OS, then I seriously doubt I can make productive use of it.
  8. Using the word "restart" in the Preferences window makes it seem like I have to restart the whole computer. You should use standard macos terminology for this.
  9. I just installed the app, and wanted to check out the Preferences, so I hit cmd+, and the Preferences window opened (I already had a blank new document open). The Preferences window had the red/yellow/green window buttons on the upper left. When I was done looking around, I hit cmd+W, as you do to close the front window on a mac, and the my master page got deleted! The Preferences window remained onscreen, mocking me. The main app window was sitting behind it. I hit cmd+W again, wondering what might happen: The document window closed. Even more curious, and with the Preferences window still onscreen, I created a new document, which appeared *behind* the Preferences window. Huh??? A new window should always open in front of other windows. I tried clicking the document window. Nothing happened; the Preferences window insists in being in front. None of my built-in macos apps do this, and most of my 3rd party macos apps don't do this. The Preferences window should not float over other windows, but it also certainly shouldn't pass keystrokes back to windows behind it. This is really super hostile and I am having serious doubts about my purchase of the app, and I haven't even started designing anything yet.
