  1. Yes, absolutely Dan. Great to hear that you guys want to add this in the future. And I understand that stacking is not something every iPad model is able to do. But the top models are getting better and better, and more capable. Even my 2020 iPad Pro (1 teraBytes) is (still) lightning fast. If your concern is the older iPads, then why not show the Astrophotography persona only on supported iPads? Besides that, maybe you can already add some astro editing features for single images and add the astro stacking feature later?
  2. Hi James, could you do a tutorial about editing astro photos in APhoto v2 for iPad? I know that the astro persona is currently only available for the desktop versions. Since Serif promised us the full experience on the iPad, when will it come to the iPad (Pro) version? But since it's not yet available for the iPad, could you do a tutorial about editing single astro photos?
  3. Hey Walt. when will the astrophotography persona come to iPad then? I believe Serif promised us the full experience on iPad Pro.. Since the astroph. persona isn't available for the iPad yet: Anyone using APhoto v2 for iPad for editing already stacked astro images? I can do some basic editing to improve the overal image quality. But I'm just curious about the experience of others who are actually using APhoto for iPad to edit their astro photos?
  4. Hey guys, how are you doing? Is anyone using his/her APhoto V2 app on the iPad (Pro) for editing astro photos? What is your experience with that and are there any documentation or tutorials/tips on that?
  5. I can indeed still rename a project, but not the individual photos. "Saving as" works, but than you have an extra copy outside of the sandbox. Is there no more option to rename a photo without saving an extra copy?
  6. Thanks Paul, I now have copies outside of the AP and AD folders. I never heard the term 'sandbox' before this V2 update Most people download the AP app and start working in it, learning while looking around. Most don't even see a manual, so they have all their files in the application. I just enrolled into a course for v1 to learn a thing or two and then v2 came available. Now I'll have to wait for the v2 course to come available I guess
  7. Stupid question, but I try it anyway. When I'm using the paint brush I can set the size of the brush on the left side and then the brush size example is obscured by my hand/arm. In v1 the brush size example circle was in the topleft, which was fine. Can I change the position to top left myself or is it fixed? Or should I change the position of the settings panels to the right? Not sure how, appreciate your tips 👍
  8. You're not the only one Jack. I also had to move 600+ files into AP v2 and 400+ into AD v2. They call it "Live docs", but it's just a gallery and I have all files into the application again. But what I did learn from this debacle is that now I also have backups of all files outside of the app and app folders.
  9. Indeed DM1. The trouble is that some people, me included, are working with the application without ever seeing the full manual. You just try something, it works, don't change anything haha Although I still think that Affinity should've done something to get your files into V2 a bit easier... I now have copies of all my files outside of the Affinity folders, but also in the V2 appl. now. Affinity can call it a Live Docs, it's still a gallery and I'm used to having all my files in the application. I'm using/playing/adjusting them constantly and my iPad has enough memory, so that's not going to be a problem. So, now I'm finally finding out what's new in V2 😛
  10. After working 4 or 5 years with the title of a folder beneath the folder I hate it that the title is now ABOVE the folder, but I guess I need to give that some time. But the fact that we now only see 1 thumbnail per folder is a bad decission. In v1 it was easy to see which folder I wanted to open, because you had 4 or 9 thumbnails. I now sometimes have to open 3 or even 4 folders to get the one I want. Is there a setting to get the old lay-out again?
  11. I use the Stage Manager and put v1 next to v2. Make sure the 'same' folders are open. Then push and hold on a file in v1 and slide it to v2. This works for almost all files, but if a file is too big than you get a screen that it's saving, but my experience is that that doesn't work. You may have to open this combi of v1 and v2 screen a few times to get all 'small' files to the other version. Than find out which files didn't make it and I had to save those files and open them separately in v2. It's a bit of work, but this is how I managed to move my 'old' work to the new version. I needed 10 hours to move my 600+ Affinity Photo files to v2, but it worked. Moving my 400 Designer files didn't take that long, but it took a short while to find out how to move the larger files. I don't think this is 'the' way to do it, but this is how it worked for me. I think it's a case of trial and error. Good luck!
  12. No, you need to create a separate Affinity Serif ID. So don't use your apple store or your forum account for it. It took me some time too, but once I had the account I could activate my AD, AP and AP apps.
  13. Thanks a bunch for this wonderful collection. I've been creating a few my self, so I know how much work this has been 👍
  14. Ah, how stupid, found it. Just push and hold and you get a menu with rename and delete. I expected it to be in the menu with the 3 horizontal bars, but this works too. Sorry for asking 👍
  15. I've been playing around with the gradient fills. I made a whole bunch of them, but made a mistake with one and wanted to delete that gradient fill but I can't find out how Does anyone know how to do that?
  16. @MainCoon: don't delete version 1 until you have all your images transferred into v2. If you delete v1 before that you will lose all your unsaved work files which are currently in Affinity Photo v1. They're not auromatically transferred to v2, you need to do that one file at a fime (welcome to the 21st century)!
  17. In v2 there's a menu item "Close all documents". Is that what you're looking for? And @Moderator: what does that item do exactly? And can I hide that menu item (as I'm afraid I will accidently hit it some time in the future)?
  18. I made a file in AP1 with narrow rectangles of all gradients I had. Then I went to AP2, imported my AP1 file with the rectangles and opened the gradients view in the colortool Then I selected the first rectangle and in the menu (with the.3 horizontal bars) I clicked on "Add current fill to palette". After that (and I don't know if this is a glitch) I had to select the gradients tab in the colortool again and then I could see that the gradient was added. Not sure if above is the right way to do it (it's just trial and error with the new version - Affinity Photo has become a game of hide and seek it seems 😂). But it worked for me.
  19. Well, after 10 hours of constant click click swipe swipe I have all my old v1 files in AP2. Started 5:30pm and was ready around 3:30am. After a 7 hour sleep I can still feel it in my right hand Question: My standard saving location is in de AP(2) folder on my iPad. If I would choose to save them to iCloud instead, would those iCloud files still disappear when I ever delete my AP2 application? with other words: do I need to save an extra copy outside of the Affinity Photo folders? What is best practice?
  20. I just counted 608 unsaved files in AP1. Same goes for AD1, but there I have 410 unsaved files. Can you imagine my almost heart attack? Never knew I needed an other workflow. Recently LiquidText upgraded their application, where users had the choice: keep using the old version or upgrade to the new payed version where the old version was just updated. No need for moving files, nothing changed, all the files were there when you opened the new version. Are the developers of LiquidText smarter than the ones who created the most wonderful Photo and Designer app for the iPad? It seems that way.... It's too late for this upgrade, but Serif, please find a way to keep or sync the files to new versions.
  21. Jesus Christ, this is undoable. Why, why, why is this a separate app? Why not updating the existing app(s)? This is going to take months, just to save each file to the Files app, give it a unique name, than copy them all to the new Affinity Photo folder and than opening each file separate to get 'em into the new version. I'm sorry, but this just socks... Main question is now: will we get future updates for the v1 version?
  22. Just upgraded to all v2 versions and almost got a heart attack seeing the old files are not in v2 🤬 Will v1 still be updated? I have thousands of files in both AP and AD. @Pookiepal Where did you save the files before you dragged and dropped them into v2?
  23. 3 Year later and still no color picker for HSL on iPad? Come on Serif 👍😛
