  1. Hyperbole. To say that Affinity despises it’s customers is beyond ridiculous and clearly untrue. Further to that you’re taking offence at some imagined insult and then contradicting yourself by saying V2 is a small price that you will probably pay. Since V2 only came out yesterday you can simply finish any Affinity projects you have outstanding in V1. If you’re so offended by the 40% across platform discount price for V2 you really don’t have to buy it. No one is twisting your arm. You can instead use Adobe if that’s what you want to do, since if I understand you correctly you are already paying a subscription to them even though it must be a much higher financial hit to you than what Affinity is asking at 119 euro.
  2. The simple answer to that is don’t buy it if it isn’t suitable for you and your profession. I’m a professional and although I’m a relatively new user V2 will work perfectly well for me. Equally, what exactly is an ‘average home user’ in your eyes?
  3. I have the V1 for desktop and iPad (minus Publisher of course) I only bought the desktop version about a year ago and recently started working on iPad too so bought Photo and Designer for them about three months ago. I bought the V2 full licence yesterday. 119 euro outright at a 40% discount for a licence across desktop and iPad is a no brainer for me. I’m not someone with wads of cash to throw about but for that same money or just over, all you get from Adobe for their most basic photoshop package is a measly 10 months of their subscription model. Pffffft, I don’t think so! I don’t begrudge Affinity a single penny frankly. I’ve just spent the afternoon on V2 Photo on iPad and couldn’t be happier. Sure, there’ll be bugs, but since when does upgraded software not have a few bugs to iron out? They get flagged up and mostly eventually they get sorted.
  4. That too! …and the more the merrier! I’m well chuffed, especially now that I’ve got all three on the pad with the long awaited Publisher for iPad.
  5. Doh! I have two iPads, a Pro and a 10.2 Version 9 which I was downloading onto last night. In my haste and consequently less speed so to speak, it hadn’t occurred to me that the Pro upstairs in my studio would wake up and download too. I thought it was completely switched off. I just opened it up this morning to download the V2s of the three apps and there they all where already. Mystery solved, dozy human operator error.
  6. I just happily bought the V2 universal licence and then followed the link from the Affinity site to the App Store to download the iPad versions. Over half an hour so far to download about a third of just Photo alone. Is it just me or is the AppStore grindingly slow at the moment? I don’t usually have problems with AppStore downloads and have had no other speed issues tonight. I fear V3 will be out before I get to have a look at V2 at this rate.
  7. Thanks DWright Mildly frustrating and to my mind, a little odd not to have the option but at least I can stop searching for it in vain. I thought perhaps there might be a keyboard command to reveal it.
  8. Newbie (on ipad and Af Photo) question- Is there a way to fix the document title to appear somewhere on the UI? Above/below the document perhaps? I can’t find a reference to this info anywhere. Is it obvious and staring me in the face and I just can’t see it? I find it a handy check with a glance that I haven’t opened a subtly different version of a composite I’m working on by mistake, but so far I haven’t found a way to reveal the doc title. I can’t see anything likely to change in preferences. The only work around I have is to duplicate the background layer of each file and rename it with each file name as I go, so at least I can double check in the layers palette when i open a file.
  9. Just a quick hello and introduction. I’m an artist and illustrator migrating from adobe like so many other people. Very new to Affinity although I’ve been aware of the packages for quite a while. Even recommended and “sold” the packages to friends on the strength of only a quick test of trial versions. I bought the full Affinity suite for desktop during the recent sale and I’m adding the ipad versions now. A little disappointed to discover there isn’t an ipad version of publisher yet. It hadn’t entered my head that there wouldn’t be a full set for ipad. Looks like it’s on it’s way though, albeit with no definite date as yet. Hoping soon! Be good to have all three on the same tablet. Okay so.. that’s a very little about me. Off for a look around the forum.
