  1. Hi, I can't do any troubleshooting atm. I'll check later. From what I remember, because I did different tests yesterday, it was same. I also noticed, with a new document, if the size is over XXX cm (unfortunately I don't remember the values), there is no preview and the export window just close by itself.
  2. I think I'm screwed https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/184537-export-crash-on-large-pdf-file/ I wonder what I should say to my client. Sorry but the software I'm using can't handle 200x90cm files lol. Do you need business cards maybe ? Every time I read this forum I have the feeling that most of people use this suite just as "hobby" and almost nobody as professional. I mean to pay the bills. I cant believe that this kind of issue is not top priority, instead of adding and fixing features that nobody asked for.
  3. File size : 775ko, 80x200cm, there is almost no effects. Cool ! Is there a member of the support team who can look at my file and see what the problem is?
  4. No I can't. I've posted two screenshots, why do you want a video?
  5. I tried with another computer, different export settings, tried to save as package and open it with publisher, same, still impossible to export.
  6. Updated to 2.1.0. Same issue. Export preview is stuck at 5%
  7. Hi, For some reason I'm not able to export one of my files W11, Designer 2.0.4 I'm stuck on this window
  8. I know my message may seem harsh, but it was really my feeling after another freeze. And I think my criticism are legit The most frustrating thing is that I like Publisher, I like doing my layout with it. I find it very pleasant to use (more than indesign) Even if there are things I don't like and I find the software still too immature (color management/control, guide, color palettes, export...) however I could live with it the time that it gets better When Publisher works as expected (10 minutes over an hour) it's really fluid, much more than Indesign - preview mode is horrible - (especially since Indesign does not support hardware acceleration on Windows) Unfortunately this software is totally unusable when you have to face 50 slowdowns a day, 10 bugs and spending your time closing and opening it to find a functional tool back. Especially in a [pro]ductivity context. I don't have the time nor the will to investigate and report bugs. It's not my job. We are not talking about a minor bug, but a problem that literally makes the software a pain in the ass to use. What's the point of fixing/improving features if the software is unusable ? I think there are priorities, and this is one of them I would like so much that Serif focus his efforts on reliability. But I already explained that. I just hope that the voice of a "pro" user will be heard
  9. I just resubscribed to creative cloud, I thought I could finish the project I'm working on with publisher but it's just impossible, too many bugs, too many inconsistencies, too many freezes and crashes, it drives me crazy. I'd rather start from scratch than continue with this software. I just hope there will be improvements in the future, maybe I'll give it a chance again, but for now, it's not a "professional" (as advertised) tool, definitely not. I would be willing to trade features for stability. It could be the best software ever made if it is not stable it is useless. SERIF : FIX YOUR SOFTWARE, STABILITY/RELIABILITY SHOULD BE THE #1 PRIORITY And publisher is anything but stable. Its like an alpha. I had a lot of hope and I thought it was great to finally have a real alternative to adobe. But I've been fooled by hype, reviews, forums and marketing. Yes V2 universal licence is cheap, but even for free I don't want to work with. I could easily pays like 500€ for stable suite, it would still be a fair price for a suite of professional tools I think affinity has a positioning marketing problem, they want to target both amateurs and pros, we end up with the worst of both worlds. now I'm going to spend the whole night redoing all my work in order not to be late Yes, I'm a bit angry. and I needed to vent my frustration.
  10. Win 11 pro 22H2 / I have the same card 6gb (old but still the most popular card on the market btw) and Publisher becomes slow af after a while, totally unusable. When I work on project with more than 2 pages, it's really a pain to work with. --- I'm at a point where I'm seriously considering resubscribe to creative cloud... this is the last thing I want. I would love to work with affinity suite, I tried my best, but it is not possible. As graphic design is my primary source of income, I have no other choice. I bought all V1 then V2 universal licence (as evidence of good faith), still so many issues. I wish it worked with affinity, but in a professional context, it's not reliable enough. I have a quite decent computer, 8cores/12 threads cpu, 32gb memory, ligtning fast SSD NVMe, and all my disk storage are ssd. Everything is up to date, from motherboard to chipset, everything. I don't want to imagine those who work with slightly older equipment 😞 I know that i'm crying in the wilderness, and it's not going to solve anything. I also know what some are going to say, it's my fault (I mean hardware or software), because for you everything runs fine. And let's go for endless troubleshouting. I'm done, It's enought for me. The reality is that everything runs fine on my computer, but I never had a smooth experience with affinity. Edit : and I didn't even think to mention freezes and crashes.
  11. Hi, Honestly I dont get it. It just need two clicks with illustrator. Select node or segment > delete. Done. I just spent 20 minutes trying to figure it out how I can do it with designer, and I still can't. Please get me out of this productivity nightmare. Even this exact simple action is absolutely not intuitive
  12. Yep, PDF/X-1a does not allow rgb so it's ok, but I feel like I have no control when it comes to color conversion, or ink coverage control. Yep, I know that ICC embed profil messes up with pdf preview (like FF or Edge built in pdf reader) I open my document in photo, (CYMK mode). When I had the pro version of acrobat I could check directly with the built-in tools But something I don't understand is why if my color space document is CYMK, when i export to pdf (ISO coated V2 300% for exemple, convert color space checked). Colors are f***ed up. Like : 0 0 0 100 -> 69 60 58 82 30 30 30 100 -> 70 64 61 88 100 100 100 100 -> 73 66 66 95 Why, 100% black is converted to CYMK black ? Or 30 30 30 100 to 70 64 61 88 ? It's very tricky especially when you work with black and white( and when you want rich black and 100% black). Also I can't figure out how to control ink coverage.
  13. I'm struggling to understang how to properly manage color in cmyk pdf export with affinity products. Why as my document (publisher) is in cymk with "convert" selected, when I export to pdf for print some of my images are still in RGB ? And why, In my CYMK document when I export to pdf (with the same profil), my 0 0 0 100 blacks are converted to 85 72 62 94 ? I'm never able to get my pdf properly generated, there is always something messed up with colors.
  14. You could have at least read the whole topic, because it sounds like a bot answer. Oh wait, maybe I should turn off HW acceleration ? 🙂 and unfortunatelly it breaks only Affinity products and not other 3D or photo editing softwares, games, dev tools or whatever... Everything run flawlessly, really unlucky. Thank you, but i'm not that much stupid, like if I asked for a patch just for me. When I read threads on this forum, it's always same, all problems are unique, and user sided, and never directly related to your products, so that's why there is no patches, please, be serious. It's now clear that I should'nt expect patches, but just wait for a major release. At least thank you for this information. I don't think it's useful to dwell on the topic, so, w&s.
