Layer Selection not Working

Hi–I'm having issues with layer selection and I wonder if it's a bug.
I have a Group of layers together. When I select the Group, I can move the layers inside the group altogether which is what it's suppose to do.
However, when I select a layer in the group, it shows me a bounding box somewhere else on the board. I can't move the object in the layer–the only thing I'm able to move is this bounding box that has nothing in it.
I was moving it just fine about 90min ago, then I closed and reopened the program since then.
Please help! Thank you.
