  1. The only time I remember where the transparency occurred was at the top where (if you zoom right in) you can see grey lines. These used to be yellow, where the page was dirty/aged. Maybe it was the incorrect layer after all? I wouldn't know unless I brought the software. Might do on my ipad as photoshop is missing so many features (and is subscription only). Thanks for getting back to me!
  2. Why is it dependent? Photoshop had no such restrictions. I chose Affinity because of being one of the few softwares to offer adjustment layers. It would be a shame if I couldn't depend on this crucial need. The other being adjustment layers which Affinity does fine at. As luck would have it, I have an affinity file of the last one I worked on. I can't open it anymore of course. What I use the "inpaint" tool for was cleaning up fibres that were scanned, or dirt and any other small imperfections. YoshoEdited (straighest).afphoto
  3. I briefly used photoshop (trial) and was impressed with its content aware fill. The thinnest line and smallest dot where no problem. When I tried Affinity's version it was hit or miss. Sometimes it would do as I expected, but other times it would instead delete what I had highlighted, leaving simply transparency. Have you encountered this? (My trial ran out so I can't show anything)
  4. Good morning / afternoon/ evening. I've been using photoshop and lightroom for a few weeks now, discovering the highs and lows of each. Most of which of the frustrations of a bare bones version of photoshop that requires me to sometime use lightroom for things the desktop adobe has. I need an alternative, and Affinity seems to have what I need, I hope. Let me explain what I need it for and if you can tell me if Affinity has these; 1: Adjustment layers. Whilst photoshop has this, the iOS version is shockingly basic, unable to alter colours. I want to make an adjustment layer, select an area with masking tool, and change a certain colour's hue etc. Lightroom can do this, but can Affinity do all that? 2: Grid option. A very basic feature missing in photoshop... 3: Content aware tool. Something I find invaluable. 4: Distortion correction tool. Something I need to correct distortion/warping from my scanner. Other questions; 1: I wanted to check if I read correctly, but Affinity can run on win 7? Free trial too? I ask this because I'd love to try it out before committing to buying on ipad. 2: Generally, how do the ipad and desktop versions compare? With photoshop, the difference is quite a bit!
