    stuck got a reaction from Freixas in Color Profiles and Soft Proofing
    My workflow is similar to yours except I'm still on DxO PL5 (still thinking about upgrading to PL7).  Thus my RAW files are converted in PL5 / Adobe RGB and exported to TIFF with Adobe RGB and opened in Affinity Photo 2 working in Adobe RGB.  Meanwhile my Dell monitor is hardware calibrate to its 'native' gamut, which if the X-Rite software is to be believed is a little bigger than Adobe RGB thus (I think) I can see all the colours that I've got in my TIFF.
    Once I've finalised an image I'll save it as a .afphoto file.  If I'm going to print I'll usually do that direct from Photo 2 and what I get out of the printer is a good (enough for me) match to what I see on screen.  Sometimes though I want greater control over the placing of an image on the paper so I export another TIFF with Adobe RGB and then open that new TIFF in an ancient version of PhotoShop with Adobe RGB as its working space and print from there.  Again, what comes out the printer is acceptable.
    If I want to share an image then, starting from the finalised .afphoto file in Photo 2, I convert it to sRGB using Relative Colourimetric intent with black point compression.  I rarely see any colour shifts as a result of that conversion.  After the conversion, I'll export a JPEG with an embedded sRGB profile.

    stuck got a reaction from wikevo in Affinity Photo Help 2.2
    On my Win 11 laptop I can increase the font size of the help file using a standard two finger 'zoom out' gesture on the trackpad.  I guess that on my Win 10 desktop PC the view would zoom if I rolled the mouse wheel.  I don't know for sure though as I've not tried it.

    Hmm, yes, using the sRGB v2 profile (sRGB2014.icc) does seem to help.
    Thank you!

    PS the reason it helps is that I can now copy NKwide.icm into 'C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color' and that then means (temporarily, when I'm processing scans) I can set Photo to use that as it's working colour space and Photo correctly handles my scans.

    This. To the best of my knowledge it applies the default settings, as though you opened a raw file and hit the Develop button right away.

    If you still have Photo 1 installed, and it sounds like you do, then it would make sense to keep it up to date.  If you just open Photo 1, without any image, it should reoffer you the update.

    Yes, it is strange and yes, there must be something in the request for payment that goes to the card provider that triggers some sort of check for approval of a recurring payment and when that approval is NOT present, the transaction is declined.
    Meanwhile, I am pleased to report that @Patrick Connor went way, way, beyond his job description and although he couldn't fix the failed transaction, he has waved a magic wand and I do now have an activated copy of Photo 2.

    @SFurniss
    Despite several email exchanges with Adam on Affinity Support, where my last message sent on Monday and which said:
    So Serif are content to leave me as a dissatisfied customer, unable to buy your products ,and likely to pass on my bad experience to anyone and everyone I know with even a vague interest in photography?
    I find that a very strange approach to customer service and support.
    There must be a reason why your website is not handling my card details correctly so even if you can’t help, surely you can escalate this problem to someone more senior?
    has not been answered, I remain unable to buy Photo 2.
    EDITED to highlight that this sad story does have a happy ending after all, see below at:

    OK so I did as that page says:
    Except, there are no saved card details that I can find in my account details.  I won't buy from the MS Store either and when I phoned Serif at 09:57 UK time and pressed one for sales I was cut off because, "Unfortunately our offices are closed".  Nor will I try another browser, if Serif's system can't cope with Firefox that's a pretty poor affair so I guess I'll pass on Photo 2.
    Thank you and good night, have a safe journey!

    @Patrick Connor
    I'm afraid this is release is too late for me.  I did try to buy Photo 2 but the Serif systems repeatedly declined my card and no one at Serif seemed interested in resolving this.  All I got were standard text replies to my emails that showed no one had read my messages.  Similarly, I only got one standard text response from Serif here:
    Oh and when I tried to call Serif, I was cut off after an automatic voice told me, "The office is closed."
    Hey ho, I can't buy what Serif won't sell.

    It depends how you define 'bad'. It's probably better to say that it is 'mixed'.  What follows is my opinion, you must do your own research.
    Their first release was no more than a few bug fixes, to do with 64 bit compatibility.  Except they didn't fix one glaring bug in Viveza.  Since then they have released a 'new' version of the collection, every year around July.  However only some of the individual apps in the collection have been updated each time.  Nik Collection 4 was a particularly low point, it was not well received, it was barely a beta product.  The current version is Nik Collection 5 and still not all of the apps in the collection have been updated.
    If DxO follow the same pattern for V6 of the collection as they've followed for their previous versions then V6 will be out next summer and the price at launch will be discounted.  Even so, expect to pay over £130 because the price includes a 'free' copy of DxO Photolab Essential version.  If you wait until Black Friday before you buy then not only are you likely to get the best price, they are likely to have released at least one, maybe two patches by then so the product might feel less like a beta version.
    I bought the first Nik Collection (because, for reasons too complicated to explain here, I got it very cheap) but I've never updated as I've always felt the update price, even on Black Friday, was not cost effective for me.  One last thing.  DxO only give an, extra, 'current customer' discount on top of any other offers if you are updating from no more than two versions back.  For example, because I didn't update from 1 to 3, when 4 came out I was no longer considered to be a 'current customer'.
    As I said, these are only my opinions, others may disagree with me.

    I'll add my unhappy voice to this conversation.  I was looking forward to v2 but since it's turned out to be an 'app' and not a 'normal' application I can't see me buying it after all.
    Serif really need to listen to their customers - but I'll be stunned if they do.

    Are you sure?  If so, I urge you to read the DxO forums to learn about other peoples current experiences with Nik Collection are like and, above all else, take advantage of the 30 day fully functional free trial to ensure the latest Nik Collection is what you want.
