NO 1. It is actually like #2 or 4 as a mask. But its not about the position in the layers. Its the actual objects. I want to grab and move/re-scale the Q after it has been masked. (And NOT MOVE THE MASK) I ran into this after an object was masked and needed to resize / center it within the mask without touching the mask itself.

You guys seem knowledgeable about the clipping... I can't find.. How do I move an existing photo that all ready has been clipped. Say reposition/resize without moving the mask itself?

No the remove layers were to be removed after the 2 halves were combined. I traced 1 side of the shape seen below moving nodes as needed. Then I made a duplicate, then mirror flip it so it is symmetrical, then used the circles to remove the corners. So i wanted to "add" the left and right, or "weld" into 1 shape.

Yes, This is the shape I was trying to make. No I did not look at your work around, as I only had my phone this weekend and not a PC to look.

I think this is a bug too. It also has migrated into the beta. If I highlight 2 shapes and click add,it doesn't add,it left me with differences. To explain what I was doing.... When I create a sign shape, I concentrate on 1 side, duplicate, then mirror 1 of them so it's concentric on both sides. When you move nodes independently, it's hard to keep it uniform. So by changing 1 of the nodes doesn't necessarily make the shape concentric. That is why I duplicate, mirror, and add. Does that clarify?

No its not shape builder. That works fine. No,that is not what I want as you are missing a layer. I used that shap and duplicated, flipped 1 mirror image to make the shape 1 shape exact same on both sides. I wanted them welded together as 1 (add) and it left me with leaving the difference of the 2( the pic I attached) NOT WHAT I WANTED Once that was done,then I was removing the 2 bottom corners with the circles.

It seems to be keyboard shortcuts primarily that randomly have no action when clicked. I found this due to the boolean operations buttons were not acting right, and would try to undo using cntrl+z. The buttons on the screen work but I don't think the boolean are working correctly. Add didn't add. That's why I uploaded that file to the forum to see if it was me doing something wrong.

Walt, Are you having issues with the add/subtract/Xor/ Divide controls?

Beta 2.1 has been solid except their issues with shortcut keys not working all the time.

Not that I see. I tried to reset all the shortcuts and it still happens. I did notice that most of the time its after add/subtract/divide 2 curves. I also, had noticed before that the "Delete" keyboard button wouldnt work many times as well. Id have to click off of a curve, click elsewhere, and sometimes it would work.

I am trying to weld the left and right together to form a symmetrical shape. Then Im trying to subtract the 2 small circles from the corners. When I take the left and right, and add, it is actually subtracting, leaving the area not overlapped. That is NOT what I want... I want it to add the 2 as one curve. Not to mention once this is done, the (cntrol +Z) function wont work and have to fo to the menu to make it undo. Version is latest Beta. Sign A.afdesign

Since using this version, the Undo (control + Z) only works once in a while. Its buggy and only works sometimes. I have to go to EDIT/UNDO in the top menu most of the time to make it work. I cant figure what to do to reproduce what causes it.

This may be unofficial and not sure if it helps, but I have ran an installed version of AD2 on a windows machine that saves all the files only to a TrueNas 13.0 LAN connected server without any issue. (Even back when it was FreeNas) Ive been doing this with Adobe for 8+ yrs.

Crashed 2 more times just zooming in this time with customer in front of me. This needs to be fixed when you cant even zoom

I have the same problem (Version 2.0.4) on Windows 10 i7-7700k CPU and Nvidia GTX 980 Ti. I tried to let it sit overnight hoping to correct itself, no avail.

This has now happened multiple times now. At least 4 times over the last week or so. Im running version 2.0.4. For some reason if I have something highlighted and immediately zoom out, it greys out the screen and gives the blue swirl circle. I left it last night to see if it would correct it self. No avail, as when I walked in this morning , it was still the same. I have to force close it. Im not sure what triggers it to get it to reproduce. Running on Windows 10 on Intel i7-7700k CPU 4.20ghz

NO, the font does NOT EXIST for the import app, as these are files that are sent to me my by customers, that I dont have the font for.....I run Flexi, Adobe, Corel,as well as Serif on the exact same PC with 4 monitors for comparison running side by side, and the same 6000 fonts.. As I stated, Flexi does NOT have access to the correct font, however it will import the text as a vector shape as I posted before. Just because you hadnt seen it, doesnt mean its not possible.

Seems like you and Affinity is the one with out a clue since my other software's have this ability. I guess Im spoiled as all my other software has this ability as I even attach a screenshot of 1 of them. I guess you get what you pay for here.

Due to lack of basic feature, there is only option to replace with another font when importing. Title speaks for itself. Clients send images with text that we cant get, so ability to import as curves would fix this.

If I create a file within AD and save as a .pdf and reopen the same file in AD or Ai, both have garbled up font. If I create or edit the file in Ai, or Flexi, then save it as pdf, everything is FINE. Even windows has NO issue with the font. Affinity Design is THE ONLY program having issue with the font Chopin Script. I verified that the font is ok everywhere else and is not corrupt. ChopinScript.otf ChopinScript.ttf Captain Master.afdesign

...I don't use it in that scenario. However ,i would use it to take a vector and turn it into a dxf for cutting. Psenda stated that was why (for publication,etc) AD had import only. NOT ME. I was going to use it to replace its biggest competitor (Adobe) but Serif ONCE AGAIN fell short. Sorry I refuse to be like most fan boys here and find the product pretty useless.

..if I wanted to use a dxf in a publication,etc... then I just export it from my CAD software as a .pdf. as every CAD I have has that ability... making AD STILL useless in that senero. (Edited due to phone spell check)

From someone who does 2d,as well as 3d ,and CAD, I can not think of 1 use where only importing Dxf without export ability would be useful. Importing .dxf without export is USELESS regardless of how they sell it. There's no other formats that AD can output that has any value to any 3d or CAD project. It was Just a simple wasteful plug of wasted abilities AD could provide.

I agree with you 100% but it looks like Serif is covering their ears not wanting to listen to what their customers are asking for. I probably wouldnt even have kept their product except I all ready have Flexisign that can save .dxf for me. But yes, there is a chance of unwanted changes when shifting between multiple programs.
